Hi everybody!

I know, since October that I don't write a report...I am really sorry but I did not have time!!.

Let's start with my birthday ..the 4th of November I turned 17...I'm getting old..

The morning of that day I went to school as every day and I was supposed to stay there the whole day, but my host father has come at school earlier to pick me up.  He took me to a restaurant where all the members of my Rotary club were waiting for me to celebrate my birthday!!  I really appreciated the surprise!....I had a long lunch with them it was almost like the one that I have in Italy where the whole family comes to eat for hours and hours.. so cool!!!

When finally I got back at home.. after eating so much.. I celebrated again with my family too, they bought a delicious cake.. I love the kind of cake that they make here!!!!!!!!maybe it is for this reason that I gained 7 pounds in the Bahamas!!=),

All of the sudden Halloween came, Agathe (the other exchange from France that is spending her here at the Bahamas) has come to my house for that night.  We got a costumes and went out in the neighbours with our friends but for us it was very strange all this because in Italy and France too we do nothing for Halloween! We had so much fun it was a very great day!! Going around and asking for candy and all kinds of sweets.....I loved it!!

December has been a fantastic month!! First of all our trip to Disney with the Rotary, finally after 4 months we've met all togheter!! I've spent a very fun week, we visited four beautiful parks we did the games more than once..because they were really cool!!!!

After this week-end I went with my host family to Nassau and Atlantis for a week!

I met a part of my mother's family: they were all nice.. but my fevorite person is the Mum.. she is really lovely!

I've had really fun with them, especially with my little host cousins they are so cute...I have never met people so friendly as here.. this is the most important aspect that I recognized immediately when I came!!! They make me really happy. .they laugh a lot...and they really treat me as a part of the family...I can feel it!!

During this week we went to see my host cousin's Christmas show at school and we also went to another small island of the Bahamas, Atlantis, where there are wonderful hotels.

We saw a huge aquarium! (I sent some pictures to you last week) incredible!! It was beautiful and also a little scary too because sometimes was underground with the dark ,with this big sharks looking us walking there, even my host mom (that I think had already been there) was so scared!

We took a walk in the hotel around the beautiful shops watching the small "concerts" across the street!!

There was a fantastic Christmas atmosphere!!!!

I've spent Christmas and the new year in Freeport with all my host father's huge family (about 30 people.. maybe more) has come to our home to celebrate it! It was really nice but also a change for me because in Italy usually I celebrate Christmas with few people, like ten not 30!!!!!=)the house was full!! I could not neither go in my room because there were like 10 children playing wii in there!! I liked all this!

For me Christmas was really different we use to stay sit for hours eating and talking of things.. here they don't use to celebrate Christmas eating on the same table...all of us were free to do what he wanted to do.. so people were watching TV, the kids were playing and we had to do what we feel like.

On January in the Bahamas there is Carnival.. I enjoyed it ,JUNKANOO, it was amazing! I've never seen something like that before! !very strange but very funny too! I took a lots of video and pictures!

Then we went to Key West (Florida \) for the fabulous sea camp!

I think that it has been the best Rotary's trip since now!!! I have had so much fun and I've also learned something about it!

I enjoyed snorkeling even if I already knew all about it because I live in a island too and my dad taught it to me since I was 5 years old!  I've had a really fun night at the 'dance party'.

During these months everybody changed family.. but I did not ,I am still with my first family, Sonia, Peter and Nath.. fortunately they are really nice and l like stay with them!!
February is finished!!

I had some free days from school!

I even want to say that I like my school so much, and especially the people....when I came here I thought it would have been so difficult to stay with guys that have different culture, traditions and used from me but from the first day of school they were very nice with me!  Sometimes I have problems understanding my teachers from Jamaica ,but my friends are always ready and happy to translate to me in real English! ahahhaha....We now are waiting for the graduation....four more months and then we'll have a very big party.. that will be the day before I leave!!!!..oh I forgot to say that I still hate my uniform.. but I can't do anything....is so ugly!!!!! Now I'm used to it but it was really a big change for me...and still I don't like it at all...but I love my school!!!

I’m enjoining my stay here very much. The experience I have had so far is much better than I thought before I left Italy. I felt ready for this program but I was worried for my English, for the school and for living with a society different from ours, but now I can say that the best moments I spend here are with my bahamanias family. They are very supportive of me and I already know that I will miss them when I return to Italy. My new family recently took me to another islands of the Bahamas called great Exuma. The Exumas are an archipelago of 360 cays and islands, most of them uninhabited, beginning just southeast of Nassau. There are deserted beaches of white sand, crystal waters and lush tropical greeney . It was very beautiful and I enjoyed it very much.

This are some pictures that I took during ours stay at Great Exuma.

Hello I am Anna, I come from Italy. I am 16 years old. In Italy, I live on a island called Sardinia, famous for its beaches. Now, I am spending my exchange year in a beautiful island, the grand Bahamas. I haven't seen much because the weather has been really bad, but I can say that in the Bahamas people are very special. My host family is fabulous, I feel very lucky to live with Peter, Sonia, and Nathalie. I like them very much. We come from two very different cultures, but i feel we are very close. I attend Academy Baptist, a small private school. I was very confused in the beginning, but now everyone knows me and helps me to solve any problems. Actually, I had only a few days of school because of the hurricanes. I did not really know about the hurricanes before coming here I only have seen about it on the T.V. So it is very strange for me to see the local people so calm about the current events.
I want to thank the Rotary and my host family for everything.
