hello from france

so far I am in love !!!!!!!!!!! I have not shed one tear
it is soooooooo beautiful here .

i swear I must have been in airports and one planes for 24 hours . it wasn't so bad cause i was accompanied by many exchange students . when we arrived annee ( my host mom ) and a bunch of Rotary people were waiting for us out side . France has high security . in the Air France terminal i saw 3 very tall soldier men walking around in high black books camouflage army outfits with big guns in their hands . it was scary at first , but i asked them for a picture in french which was very difficult . i met Annee and she is wonderful . the drive home was long almost 2 hours i think . and the french highways are nothing like American ones . they curve and go up hills . if you get car sick , don't move to france !then on one side of the road you have a mountain and on the other is a cliff and is you go off the highway .....well you die ! on top of all that , you are aloud to drive much faster in france like 50 miles an hour on a regular street and 80-110 on a highway . so work in everything i just told you and driving is very dangerous . on the sie of the road there are many wine vineyards . i took many pictures of them .

when i arrived home my host dad ( Joel) was waiting outside in the drive way . i introduced myself and he carried my bags into my room . their house is so beautiful . they live on top of a hill . their backyard over looks the whole city , bay , the port , the gulf , everything you can see from the backyard . my room is pretty decked out with all sorts of boating things like a rope tug and anchor wallpaper . i am sooooo lucky , i just wanted to thank te rotary again for making me so happy and letting me experience this !!!!!!!!!! i am so happy and sooo in love with the country it's people , my opportunity , everything !

my first day in Cavalaire , i walked the beach with Annee's friend , she has a big dog , that is very cute . Anne works at the Port so i met up with her around 3 i think but i never know what time it is here , it's like they hate clocks ! but time fly's though ! we went home together in this rather odd jeep.
i helped set the table and she made dinner . everything has not been to my liking but i try it and it grows on me . like this bitter salad we ate . i had some , and then i wanted more . it's funny how things become better the more times you have it .

the second day , we went to Nicholas house in the Village of Mole . it's very country oriented . Nicholas is Elodies boyfriend , he is going to study in Canada and leaves tomorrow . his parents will also be my third host family ( January , February , march) so we said good bye to Nicholas and went swimming . wow !!!! i cannot tell you how cold the pools are in france ! well i can , 75 degrees . i know it doesn't sound cold but it's colder than ice water . it is sooo different .At night it gets into the 70s too . so it's like our winter in the summer in france .

today , Elodie's best friend will come over and we will swim again ! everything is going well here ! my language is even coming along ! Annee gave me some of Elodie's kiddy books so i can learn words and stuff . school starts next Monday , and i am very exited ! my family is wonderful . today i was reading Nae's report and Annee called me over the the family computer and she was reading Nae's report . it was sooo funny . i showed her and we laughed for about 20 minutes !
