Bonjour tout le monde !
Hello Everyone !
Wow , it's hard to believe 5 months have passed so far .I have nothing but
good things to say about everyone i meet , anything i do , or anywhere i
go .
In early November the inbounds here went to Corsica . It was a short trip
but it was very beautiful . Not a lot of people live on Corsica island so
it's very old and quiet . While I was there i visited the rotary club of
Calvi . They reminded me of the rotary club of Davie /Cooper city . Always
making jokes , and laughing , but being serious when needed . I
appreciated that .
I also made thanksgiving for all of my 4 families and some rotary
officials . They loved it , and my turkey came out pretty good for my
first turkey . (it was a little dry) Thats also when we changed families .
I have four in total , and I'm changing again February 9th . It was sad to
leave my first family cause I feel like I really clicked with them . But
my second family is nice too .
For christmas you'll never believe where i went ...PARIS . I went with my
second family . It was really beautiful . I am in love with the Eiffel
tower , but not the temperature .the Eiffel Tower sparkeles the last
minute of the hour and the first minute of the hour . It was breath taking
to see . Paris also is so big . It's like 3 Miami's at least . So It was
impossible to see everything . But I did see a lot .
For now I reside in Saint Tropez . a famous town in France . The story
behind Saint-Tropez is that "Tropez" was decpitated and put in a boat and
floated here , so they called the village "Saint-Tropez" . My host mom has
a statue of him and it's very sacred to them .
School is so different . Every wednessday we get out of school at 12:30 .
Which is very nice . On the way home one day the police stopped the bus ,
and we were all searched for drugs . It was kind of scary being sniffed by
and angry dog . Now when ever the police pulls us over it's to make sure
we have out seat belts on .
The Temperature here is so much colder . It's about 50 degrees everyday .
I personally been sick about 4 times because i'm not used to the weather .
I'm also cooking so much more . I know how to make crepes , tarts , a
quiche and other things . When i first arrived the wine and cheese were
hard for me to eat but now it's coming along and I like lots of different
cheeses and occasionally wine . (This is a cultural expirience , I'm not
drinking wine just to drink it . Don't worry )
The language is very beautiful . Now i'm starting to learn all the ways to
write , becuase everything changes when you change the tense of what your
writing . They say i speak very well french for not speaking a word before
I came to france . My host Mom corrects me a lot now and things are
starting to stick .
I have made lots of friends at school . Now on the weekends i don't have
just plans with my family but i go out with kids from my school also .
Which I like a lot cause I get to speak a lot of french . Well till next
