Everybody!
Guten Morgen....for all of you back in the United States.
(that is good morning in German) I have been pretty busy here in
the last week.
Last week my Rotary Club here in Dorsten held a big BBQ. All of the
rotarians and there wives and children came. It was a blast. I got to
enjoy a good BBQ with good company too. I spent a lot of time with the
other wxchange student (Nico-Argentina) and a rebound who was also in
Argentina 4 years ago. We had a blast...espically when they tried to
teach us some pretty hard german words.
Yesterday we had a district meeting in Duisburg. It is only about (as
Google says) 38 minutes away from Dorsten. At the meeting i met all
the other exchange students in our district 1870. There were some
exchange students that had been there since January. It was crazy how
good they were speaking German. It is hard to realize that hopefully
soon i will be speaking good German as well. Right now its just an
imagination....but it will happen...slowly but shirley. So anyways,
there wera ALOT of exchagne students from Brazil, a hand full from
Mexico, a few from Argentina, one from South Africa, and about 8-9
people from the U.S. It was good to speak to some people who speak the
same language and understand every word that i say.
The german language is very hard to speak. They do a lot of sounds
with there throat and it is pretty hard. I am getting words down but
it takes much practice. It is definatley funny when i try!
School is going wonderful as usual. I am understaning more and more in
my classes. A lot of the words in like math and physics are similar to
english words so i can kinda understand what they are saying. This
coming tuesday my Latin class is going to a museum on Rome. It should
be okay...but what is better is that my french class is going to PARIS
for a week on tuesday. I could of gone but i didnt get signed up in
time...plus i know no frence...how fun would that be!
