Christopher's Report

June 6, 2007

Hello everyone,

in the last week there have been a lot of great Goodbye partys. But on Tuesday the 5th of June I organized that all we exchange students could go together to the beach and also visit the Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale Beach. So Me and Marit took the bus from Weston to Sawgrass early in the morning. Then we waited for the others because we had an appointment at 10 at the foodcourt. Soon after everybody came. Carlos and Hernan, Yu and Mimi and Ari and me and Marit. Then we took the bus from Sawgrass to Fort Lauderdale Beach down Oaklandpark Blvd. We got to the hotel where the Rotary Club meets by 11.25. Then we also met Cyril our last man. The cool thing was that everybody brought their Rotary Blazer. We sat at the pool untill 12. Then we went to where the Rotary Luncheon was. There we made contact with the first Rotarians of the Club. I have visited some other clubs in the district but this time it was something special because all the remaining exchange students went together and we really pepped up the club. There were not a lot of people there but they were a funny group. The lunch buffet was really good aswell. And then you had the beautiful view onto the beach. During the meeting all the exchange students introduced themselves and we spoke about the program. We also exchanged flags with the club president. We took some pictures and then the meeting was already over. Then we went back to the beach but unfortunately it started to rain but it soon got better. We had a lot of fun in the ocean and in the sand with throwing the football or playing catch. At around five we took the bus back to Sawgrass. Everybody was tired and slept. It was a great organised day with a good purpose and a lot of fun and sun. Thank you again to the Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale Beach for letting us all attend their meeting because all the remaining exchange students came all together to share their experience.
