Ah May...I love the month of May....
The weather starts to warm up, flowers bloom, and my birthday finally arrives....but we will get to that a little later.....

The month of May was filled with a lot to do...On the 1st of May was a free day...No one went to work...I went with my host family to watch my host brother play tennis...After that nothing happened until the 4th of May....From the 4th- 6th of May we had a Rotex Weekend... It was such a crazy weekend...We all met in Gelsenkirchen and went on a tour of the soccer stadium... After that we went to the school that we would be staying in and had dinner... The next day we went to a coal mining place I believe and then to this other place for a night tour...As we were walking to the train Rotex yells at us to run because our train was coming...Mind you that we were still quite a ways from the train...Just imagine about 50 or so exchange students running to the train...Once we got on the train about 5 minutes later they told us to get off...why??? because we were on the wrong train...We were all soooo mad....making us run for no reason...Well, we finally got on the right train and ended up in the right place...However, we still had another train to catch and guess what we hear as we are walking to the train, “RUUUUUN.” Once again we are all running to the train....and of course once we get there we end up waiting for almost 20 minutes for the train...by this time we were past mad...some people even got hurt from falling and everything...Besides all that our weekend was pretty good....
The best thing that happened in May came on the 9th...My Birthday....When I got up in the morning my host family was waiting for me downstairs with gifts.....It was so nice....I got some earrings, flashlight, and some other stuff....but I think one of the best gifts that I got was a chance to dance with a professional ballet studio....I got to take class at the Deutsches Oper am Rhein...It was so cool and the people were so nice....After my ballet class I was supposed to go home and get ready to go to a hip hop class....well that never happened....As soon as I got home I went into the kitchen and some of my friends were there....they threw me a surprise party....I didn’t expect it at all...I was so happy....We all just sat around and talked and of course ate....then we watched a movie....I think it was a good birthday...I didn’t expect any of it but I was happy with the outcome...
On the 16th of May I had my first Rotary meeting..Yes, my first....I have been to our rotary Christmas party but not to a meeting...Me and the two other girls in my club went to the meeting right after school....There weren’t that many people but we had good food...We never gave a presentation about our countries but we did talk a little about our stay in Germany and we talked a little about our home countries... the meeting was about an hour long so we didn’t do much....but it was finally nice to go to an actual rotary meeting...On the same day my 2nd host sister returned home from Brazil.....So directly after our meeting we went to the airport to welcome her home...It was quite a sight to see 3 girls walking in the train station and the airport in their rotary blazers....we got a lot of stares....After we welcomed her home we went to her house and had pizza and talked a little...
On the 19th of May was my friends going away party....She made Mexican food and everything....It was a good part y but also sad at the same time...and then on the 23rd was my other friends birthday party...she had a part y at her house....we ended up having the police called on us because we were to loud at midnight saying happy birthday....but nothing happened....On the 27th I went to Amsterdam with my friend and her host family and 3 other exchange students....we went on a boat tour and then we had free time for a few hours...we wondered around for a while and then met back up with the family...unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to go into any of the museums or anything....the lines for everything were so long...so, since the weather was so nice we just wandered around and took pictures...You will have to wait for pictures until I get home...I lost my cable, but I promise I will send them as soon as I get home unless I figure something out....
Anyways, on the 28th my friend from Mexico flew back home...It was so hard saying goodbye to her...She has been my other half while I have been here....We went to school everyday together and we were in all the same classes....but she was really happy to go home so I was happy for her....
So after my friend left there was nothing else that happened during May.....So I guess that is all until I write about June....so until later
