So, what was the next stop on our tour. Well, none other than

ROME

After arriving in Rome we went to our youth hostel and then immediately went to the city...We had a little night tour of Rome. During our tour we saw the Piazza del Popolo, the Spanish Steps and to finish we ended up at the Trevi Fountain. The Trevi was sooooooooo pretty at night, although I though it would be a little bigger. After our tour we had free time to go find something for dinner...Once we were finish with dinner we headed back to the hostel....On the way we got lost....That wasn’t much fun but we finally found our way back...The next day we woke up early and set off for the Pantheon....We saw some other things but I don’t remember what they were....After the Pantheon we went to Vatican City...we were supposed to go to St. Peters Church but unfortunately we were unable to....At least it was for a good reason...The Pope was in town.....Yes, we got to see the Pope....we were actually quite close to him.....There were so many people there waiting to see him...about 20 minutes or so before he came out it started to rain but some how it stopped right as he came out....After seeing the Pope we were giving some free time to eat so we all split up into groups and left....As my group ways leaving we were walking in a pedestrian area and then all of a sudden I was run over by a car....nothing to bad, but the driver ran over the side of my foot and just kept going....for the rest of the day I had really bad pains in my foot but nothing was broken....That is something I will never forget...The next stop on our agenda was the Roman Ruins (Forums)..... they were amazing...I never thought I would ever be able to see them....we had about an hour to look at them and then we had to wait for 2 hours until our rotary tour guide came....he was a little late...Then it was on to the Colosseum.... The thing is HUGE.....man o man.....Unfortunately we were unable to go inside because we got there to late and only had 5 minutes to go in and it was really expensive for just 5 minutes so we just all walked around and looked at it through cracks in the wall....The Colosseum was the end to our day.....After seeing it we ate and then went back to our hostel....Our last day in Rome we had a choice of waking up early and going to the Vatican museum or sleeping in and going to some churches....most of us went to the museum....we ended up waiting in line for about 2 hours or more....but thankfully we didn’t have to pay because the Pope was in town.....Most of us went straight to the Sistine Chapel.....It took forever to find though..but once we found it we were just amazed....It was so gorgeous and magnificent.....I was mad that we couldn’t take any pictures but, o well....at least I have seen it....Once we left the Vatican Museum we met up with the others that didn’t go to the museum and headed back to the hostel, loaded up the bus and headed on to Florence....

Florence

Well, Florence started off just like all the rest....We arrived, went to the hostel, had dinner and then had free time for the rest of the night....There was nothing to do so we all just stayed in the hostel and checked our emails and called people back home....some of us did laundry, which was quite funny....because we didn’t have money to use the washers there were about 5 girls at a time in the bathroom washing clothes....it was quite a sight.....Sooo....the first day in Florence went something like this...We had another city tour and went to S. Spirito, Palazzo Pitti, Ponte Vecchio, Uffizien, and Palazzo Vecchio....All before lunch....That’s a lot..after our days activities were finished, we met up with district 1900 from Germany.....we all hung out with each other for a while and then we said our goodbyes and returned to our hostel....we then had dinner and then after dinner we went to a bar and sang kareoke..... boy was that funny....No one could really sing....but it was a fun night and That’s all that mattered....As we were walking back to our hostel from the bar, I guess we were being to loud because some poured water on one of the exchange students even though she wasn’t making any noise....I think after that happened we became even louder with laughter and everything....It was just one of those things that you just had to laugh at....we made to ack to the hostel without anymore water being poured...

Piza

We left Florence rather early and drove to Piza....We spent a few hours there taking pictures and that was about it....there really isn’t anything to do in Piza except for taking pictures...After we were done taking pictures we returned to the bus and kept driving to Nice..

Nice/ Monaco

As we arrived in Nice we went directly to our hostel, but in order to get to our hostel our bus driver had to drive backwards all the way, which wasn’t that far but it took him about 45 minutes....talk about skilled driving....Our hostel had the most amazing view....from our balcony we had a perfect view of hills with houses and the wilderness....it was amazing....After getting settled we had a really good dinner....and then we had about an hour to come up with something for a Talent contest....its really hard to create something in only an hour....it was a lot of fun though....there were a lot of skits about the tour and everything.....it was a good way to end the night.....The next morning we woke up early and drove to Monaco , which took about an hour or so...Monaco is Gorgeous....It is the cutest little country but EXPEEEEEEEENSIVE....While we were there we went to the Monte Carlo...Well only the outside...then we walked from one end of the country to the other in about 30 minutes......and to top off that walk we walked up a huge hill to see a castle....with just our luck we got there right as they were changing guards....man is that a long change....it took forever....we ended up leaving before they were done....To end our day in Monaco we went to a little sitting area that had the most amazing view ever ( I might have said that before but this time I really mean it)...we could see the ocean and everything and let me tell you...when you have a group of 56 exchange students who haven’t seen the ocean or a big body of water in 8 months you get a huge reaction....School kids that were there during their lunch break were just looking at us like we were weird...but what can we say....so anyways we relaxed for a while and had lunch and then headed back to Nice....Once we arrived in Nice we had 6 hours of free time...So some of use went swimming in the Mediterranean while the others just watched us...we walked around for a while and ended up back on the beach for the rest of the night....My friend and I had to go to the bathroom so we left our stuff with everyone and left without saying anything.....When we got back they were all gone...and so were our bags....we didn’t know if anyone took them or not because they weren’t really around where everyone was....We started to freak out and my friend started to cry....We finally made our way to the meeting point where we had to go and as soon as we got there we were told that they had our bags.....we were sooooooooo happy.....Up until that moment we were a disaster......Thankfully our fellow exchangees are looking out for us and grabbed our stuff....We definitely learned a lesson that night....Never leave you stuff even if it is with friends....After that big ordeal we returned to the hostel and turned in for then night....

Avignon

Next stop Avignon...but before we left Nice we woke up early and climbed the city wall or something like that.....Then we had free time during which we sat on the beach and tanned, then it was on to Avignon....After many hours on the bus we finally arrived....Our first night in Avignon was very chill....We had dinner and then we had the choice of either going to the city or staying at the hostel....Me and a friend stayed at the hostel and watched a movie on another friends laptop....That pretty much concluded our night....The next day was our only full day in Avignon....we started by going to the Papst palace...and then Ponte du Gard...After that we didn’t really do much....Just walked around for a while....then had dinner and went out....Avignon is a cute little town but there wasn’t a lot to do there....

Genf

Now I thought there wasn’t really anything to do in Avignon...Well in Genf there wasn’t really that much to do either..We went to the Red Cross Museum and then just basically walked around, saw the town, and had dinner and for desert....Swiss chocolate.....soooo yummy.....The next day we woke up and went to the United Nations...We had a tour which was very informatical and then we left and headed to Paris....but it wasn’t a nice, smooth ride to Paris....
