hello everybody...
Last week I had a whole week off classes...because of the mid term
break...My hostfather, David Long tried to do everything so I could keep
bussy...and he did a good work..LOL
It was a pretty moved and bussy week, but I also had a time to chill out a
little bit...
I bought the airplane ticket to Florida for the Key West District
Conference. I went to the weekly Rotary meeting of my host club "Lucaya
Rotary Club" that takes place at the "Rubgy Swiss Restaurant" every
tuesday at 12:30.
I walked by myself 5km. to get to Port Lucaya Marketplace. I did some
shooping and I went to the beach right next to Port Lucaya.
I worked with my hostfather in the backyard...I put some fertilizer on the
ground...
On Friday night I went to a Rotary Fund Raiser...with Pelin(FES from
Turkey). We dance a lot, we listened poetry and a very good music band,
and of course we talked a lot eachother...
On Saturday night I went to a lovely and fun Birthday party of a friend of
mine...I had soo much fun in that party...and the b-day girl was
beautiful...LOL
On Sunday I helped David out to take some soil of the ground. I was soo
much tired but I learned that here in Grand Bahama Island is very
difficult to find soil, because this island is made by limestone and
coral...so its hard to find good soil to grow plants, and people has to
buy soil at the Store, this is something awkward for me, because in my
country we have plenty soil to grow a lot of plants...
So now, that I have been living here in The Bahamas for two months I can
say that I've learned a lot of things...I'm giving value to the things
that I had in Ecuador(and now I miss it) and right now I'm giving value to
the things that I have here, specially to the human relations with
Bahamian FRIENDS...
That is why I'm very happy to be here and that is why I would like to
thank the Rotary Club for this amazing opportunity.
THANK YOU ALL...
Carlos Roberto...
Ps: Today back to classes in the Assembly, one of my teachers said "come
on Carlos, come to the stage and tell us about your school in Ecuador" Of
course it took me by surprise, but I remained calm and I talked to the
crowd. At the end everybody applaud at me and I felt very good, as a
mather of fact I felt soo good that I wanted to keep talking and talking.
