Carlos' Report

June 25, 2007

As I knew since the beginning the Year End Trip was going to be one of the High Lights of my exchange year and I was right....the last two weeks have been a blast to me. On June the 12th I took a bus trip sponsored by the Rotary District 5970 that is taking 52 exchange studets around 23 states during one month.

I have visited so many places in the United States that is hard to remember all the things that I have done so far.

I've been in the Grand Canyon where we spend a wonderful day hanging around with my new friends at a temperature of 115*F, it was the first time I have experienced such a high temperature.
I also did some rafting on a third degree rapids on Durango, Colorado where I jumped into a 34*F water, at this time I though I was freezing. And because of this change of temperatures I have a terrible cold now.

I also walked all the way down on Las Vegas Blvd where I had the chance to take pictures of this huge hotels and casinos, we couldn't have left Las Vegas without attending to a show, so thats why we went to "Americas Super Star Show" and we saw Christina Aguilera, Brittney Spears and of course Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson. After that we rode on the "BIG SHOT" which is a ride on top of The Stratosphere and that was the most freaking part of the day....I just loved it.
I also walked on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood, I was in the Kodak Theatre, I got the chance to take a picture to the famous Hollywood sign, we walked on Rodeo Drive where all of these fancy fashion stores are, we were on Beverly Hills and saw all of the bars, restaurants and clubs that the hollywood stars go to.
We went to San Diego and spend the whole afternoon on the beach at the Pacific Ocean.
We been traveling through the middle of the United States where there is a "lot of nothing", a lot of heat and beautiful landscaping specially when we were on ROUTE 66.

It's been so exciting that I would love to keep doing this trip for another month and the most special thing is the new friends that I have done.
I have still two more weeks and after that I will have to go back home.
Rotary is making a huge impression on my life.

Thanks again for it.
