Carlos' Report

June 11, 2007

Hi everybody

I'm writing this report with a lot of different feelings.
In the first place I feel sad because I know my exchange year is coming to an end and because I have to say goodbye to my fellow exchange students who are the most amazing kids ever....
and in the other hand I feel very happy that I have had the chance to live such an experience and also very exicted because this coming Tuesday 12th of June I'm going on a Rotary sponsored trip around the USA along with Cyril, Marit and Ari (another exchange students from this district).

I left "BAHAMA LAND" on May the 14th. It was really sad to left the place in where I had been living the last months of my life but it was even more sad to say goodbye to the people on the Island since I am not really good at this stuff. I'm really gratefull to the Rotary Club of Lucaya who hosted me.

Since the first moment that I touched American ground my fellow exchange students did everything that was possible to keep me bussy and happy...which is not really hard since I'm not a high maintence kid (i think the host families think different but anyway...lol).
My friends took me to the beach so I can get a nice tan, to malls, to parties, to sleepovers, to b-days, to byebye parties all over the place, to some Rotary meetings, to go on a boat around Fort Lauderdale and to eat and eat and eat and eat and that is why I had to go to the gym to get rid of some Bahamian/American pounds and because I was staying with the crazy german guy and the finish guy I had to do some extra exercise.

I'm so grateful to all of them that made of these last four weeks so special for me.
I would also like to thanks to all the families that hosted me, like the Shaffner family, Burguess family, Monagham Family, Altschul family and many others that wanted to host me, to all of them thank you very much for opening the doors of their houses.

And finally thanks again to the Rotarians of the District 6990 that make possible this experience that has touched me and changed me a lot, I'm so proud to be a rotary exchange student and I would like to become a Rotarian in my future because I would like to give back what Rotary has given me....open more doors to another people like Rotary has opened a lot of doors to me. I will definitively remember this year as the best year of my life!!!

"Don" Carlos.

Ps: special thanks to my senseis "gringo cereal" , "el caudillo" , "turru pakini".
