My experience during the last month!

The past few months have been very rewarding in good experiences and not soo good experiences too, but EXPERIENCES FOR LIFE ABOVE ALL.

The Key West trip and Disney trip was amazing, sharing time and smiles with some exchange students that are living similar experiences feels good. Both trips were amazing and I met wonderful people.

December was good and was the month that tested my character. First, my bithday away from home was just ok! Then on Christmas time everything was different in The Bahamas, I had a long school break and I had a lot of time to chill out... Christmas eve was hard because I didn't do anything at all and I was home alone... Back in my hometown I used to celebrate Christmas on the 24th.
On the 25th I had a nice meal with my host father, his girlfriend, his son and his son's girlfiriend and I got a couple of good gifts. We had a relaxing Christmas day at the Bahamian way.

On the 26th of December Pelin and I went on the boat and traveled overseas to Florida....lol...I've never been in a cruise before so it was interesting to go by boat.

We stayed there at Cyril's host parent's house, it was a nice weekend and hanging out with my exchange friends in Florida was awesome. We had a wonderful BBQ at the beach hosted by Cyril's host parents, Cyril himself and John Aquino....most importantly special thanks from the bottom of my heart to JOHN AQUINO, Cyril's counselor who did everything for us...HE IS THE NICEST "OLD" MAN I'VE EVER MET IN MY LIFE....We went to Sawgrass Mills, to the movies, to T.G.I Fridays, to drink coffee while reading books and magazines inside a store, to the Galleria Mall, and to another party hosted by YU. I had a blast...and that was possible because of John Aquino who took us wherever we needed...Thanks to John!!! and also to Cyril, Jeff and Susan Shaffner.

I came back to The Bahamas on the 31st so I missed Ari's sleepover in Florida. New Year's eve wasn't really good for me, I didn't do anything and I was home alone again all the night...was hard to spend this holiday away from home for the first time in my life but even harder was spending on my own with no one else to hug or someone to wish a Happy New Year, so I spend the night watching movies.  I don't blame to my host father, because he didn't mean to do that and he is a very nice and cool person and above all he is my friend. And now I have an story to tell to my kids in the future..lol in some way those moments gave me time to think about myself and make some New Years resolutions and that experience made me feel stronger in character...

2007 was here and it began in a very exciting way...I had this JUNKANOO parade which is a Bahamian cultural festival. I took part of it as an exchange student in the Junkanoo Rotary Group as a beller and I moved my boungie all the night...It was very exciting and I had a real Bahamian cultural experience, I really enjoyed doing it and I will carry that experience in my mind for the rest of my life...to tell you the truth I would like to come back next year to take part again in the Junkanoo parade!

On January the second I changed my family to the Turnquest family. I've been here for 15 days and I really like it...everything is new but I got used to it very quickly. I have a host brother and a host sister, both of them attend my school. They have a nice house and I always have someone to talk to. The life here is pretty busy and they are very nice at me.

As you all can see the experience lived during the last month was kind of intense but I enjoyed it and I wouldn't change it for the world....the experience was good and bad at the same time but ABOVE ALL IT WAS THE EXPERIENCE OF A LIFE TIME...Thanks to Rotary for that!
