Well i guess since its
been about a month and a half I should write another report, excuse
the bad grammar and what not, haven't writin in English in a long
time.
OK I guess I start with my trip to Blumenau e Ilha do Mel (island of
honey). Well the trip started out with 14 exchange students a van
drive and our Rotarian chaperone(well he is the son of the head youth
coordinator of my district here in brasil) and a small van, Yea well
we left Londrina at 1pm and had a long drive ahead of our selves, but
we past the time with movies, music and talking(the usual stuff on a
long car ride), Well our first destination was Blumenau, the
Oktoberfest capital of Brasil, when we FINALLY got there I was
shocked, I wasn't in Brasil anymore, the Town was completely German,
the building the people the food everything!!!!, now well didn't
arrive there till 1230am, we were all tired form the long ride but we
were at Oktoberfest!!!!, so we parted and danced to German music then
when everything was closing up at 3am, we had to get back in the van
and drive another 7 hours to Ilha do mel(YES we drove 11 hours to stay
in Blumenau for 3 hours, but we had a good time), the ride to Ilha do
mel was fast simply because we all fell asleep.
We finally arrived at Ilha do Mel at 11am, the Island was amazing, and
it's a huge Island but not a single paved road or car. There we stayed
in a cool little hotel like place called a pousada. Well Ilha do mel
was just pure fun, we went rock climbing, hiking, boat riding, and of
course tradional dancing, plus we didn't get an hour of sleep. The
first day there me and two other exchangies (one from Germany and the
other from Mexico went tout and explore the island a bit, we managed
to find an amazing cave and a beach primed for good surfing. The
second day we set out on a boat ride around the island. We went
swimming and toured a Fortaleza (an old fort), it was really amazing.
Plus the water was beautiful and nice and warm. After the long boat
ride we ended the day with foral and sertaneja. The final day was
definitely the toughest, after about 3 hours of sleep we had a 5 hour
hike around the island. Though the weather wasn't the best the walk
was amazing…..and longer then long!! We walked along beached and
climbed rather large hills, drank tradional sucos (fruit juices) and
found a foral (Lighthouse). Once again this night ended with more
dancing and partying. One the morning of our departure everyone was
ready to go. The van ride back was only 7 hours.
After arriving back in Londrina it was time for a well need rest
Well life is all well now, I like my school and I hate my school. I
like going and talking with all my brasilian friends and messing
around with them in class, but now that the year is ending soon they
are all studying for there final exams so the classes are now for once
quite when a teacher is teaching, so now I just sleep or go chill in
the detention room with other exhcangies (no we don't get in trouble
the principle of the school said we can stay there if we are bored of
our class).
For my rotary meetings I am going every week and enjoy helping out
with the Rotarians in my club plus there good food and I get to miss
school.
I have stopped taking my dance class because they were slow moving and
I wasn't learning anything new, but now I've started taking caporia (a
mix between dancing and fighting) lessons with some friends. If my
friends and I go everyday of the week we don't have to pay!!! I am
still playing tennis three days a week and I have starting to swim
three times a week.
After being here for nearly 3 months now (I cant believe its going by
soo fast) I know the city of Londrina like the back of my hand and I
can walk to any part of the city and not get lost.
Well I don't want to bore yall with more of nothing so ill finish
here…..
Ok well next week im going on a large rotary trip to Pantanal Bonito
and I can´t wait so you will here form me after that,
Thanks to everyone for everything,
Abraços e beijos!!!,
