Salut!!!
Today I am writing just to inform you of the 1st Student Exchange
Orientation I had in France. It was held yesterday, from 9:45am in the
morning until 4:45pm in the afternoon. Yet, it did not feel long at
all. I was able to meet every one of the inbounds and also the last
year's outbonds from my district; so that was rather interesting
(especially since there are only two exchange students in Belfort -
including me). District 1680 is hosting one of the largest amounts of
exchanged students that I know of. There are: 2 Indians, more than 10
Americans, 1 Thai, 1 Taiwanese, 1 Japanese, Two Brazilians, 1
Ecuadorian, 2 Mexicans, 5 Australians, 1 New Zealander, and 1 Bahamian
(me!!). Therefore, as you can probably tell, I really enjoyed the pin
collecting/sharing, and the conversations held with so many different
nationalities (and the thing is, more are coming!!) Other than that,
the meeting was just to allow us to finally meet, to inform us about
our other meetings and the bus trips (can't wait for that!!!!), and
also to let us hear how exciting the experiences of the former
outbounds were. Therefore, I am really looking forward to the upcoming
events that this Club has scheduled for us and with that excitement my
French is still rapidly improving. SOOOO…..As a result I feel a lot
more comfortable here and now, I am not only liking France, yet I am
LOVING it!!! Life here is certainly enjoyable, adventurous, and
ever-changing. Every day feels like a new one, and just beyond the
starting point, I can tell that there is some excitement on the way.
Mais, jusqu' au mois prochain, bonne chance à vous tous étudiants
d'échange (however, until next month… good luck to all of you exchange
students). I will keep you all posted.
