Aryana's Report

La France - Ma maison, ma copine et un pays qui a fait beaucoup des choses pour ma maturité.

France - My home, my friend and a country which has done many things for my growth; a place summarized as that point which lead me to one of my many dreams in life and that place where opportunity was conquered and discovered.

France was a place I called home for approximately four months, and in that period I have seen and done many things. For Instance, I ate on top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris near the Champs Elysées; toured the Louvre; traveled for the first time on a train to Germany by myself, and in that seeing a closely made friend – Lorina. I have also seen Switzerland and many other cities in France provided by that of a generous host family. Most importantly, in that period of time I learned to speak fluent French and make friends with a culture totally different than that of my own. I have gone to a private school (Sainte Marie) and had a host family whom have all helped me so much in learning the language. They have assisted me with the language not only by helping me speak but by helping me learn through movies and books (including my ears and eyes to capture the French phonetics).Yet, this could not have happened without the support of my family, friends and of course the Rotary International Club 6990 and 1680. You all have prepared me so much in this journey to maturity. Thus, for this reason I say Thank You!!!

On the contrary, I did not quite complete my journey as expected; however, I believe it was completed in those four months. I had a task, and that task was to learn the language and the culture, and this I acknowledge as completion. You see, I have made friends with another culture and in that I have learned so much.

Nevertheless, I have had so much fun abroad. One of my happiest moments was working with a veterinarian (M. Michele Karibe). It enlightened me so much to see the diversity of a veterinarian – a road I may take in the future, and for these outlooks granted to me, I say thanks once again.

In conclusion, to all the other exchange students, I would like to leave you with this... Do not have a closed mind to possibility; the chances to take are just beyond the horizons. Stand Tall and Proud!!! We are exchanged students!!!

Bonne Chance a toute monde!!!! (Good Luck to Everyone!!)
