Inbound Orientation and

Outbound Camping Trip

Birch State Park - Fort Lauderdale

February 24 - 26, 2006

Nervousness for some, fun for all, the annual Outbound Orientation and Inbound Camping Trip returned to Birch State Park after being at Indian Hammock for several years.  While not noticed by the students the Rotarians appreciated remodeled cabins with full facilities and air conditioning and new kitchen equipment.

Friday was meeting each other and getting used to the idea of being an exchange student - as well as sharing nerves about country assignments.  Saturday were some serious sessions for both groups, but plenty of beach time available to all.  After dinner Saturday was the traditional campfire where lots of helpful and practical information was offered to the Outbounds by current inbounds as well as former exchange students - Todd Lary, Jelka Diedenhoven, Javier Garcia, Alejandro Corredor, Marco Barbieri, Maria Barona, Sabrina Rodriguez, Daniel Waugh.  Thanks to all of them for coming and helping and to all of the Rotarians who organized this event.
