Yireh Reports on her Euro Trip

May 10, 2006

Coucou everyone!!!!!!

Wow im exhausted! My eurotrip was great! i had so much fun.  We were 55 exchange students.  I have to say that the only thing i would have change is the time on the bus...... most times we were only a few hours in the city and then 4-6hrs of bus ride.... bummer but oh well! My fave town had to be Munich in Germany and country....ITALIA!!!! i fell in love with italy! We went to Venise, Genes and Lido di Jesolo, and even got to do Verona-Romeo and Juliet- which wasnt on schedule, but our wonderful driver had the magnificent idea to stop on the way!!! I enjoyed it so much, it was warm, the ppl are cool and Verona is really cheap...compared to the other cities of course ;) all is relative.  Anyway, Now my blazer is full of pins and i havent even finish putting stuff on it! How are we seriously going to put this on later?? it weights 10pounds de plus!  :S

Well we got an average of 4hrs of sleep everyday and the morning after i got back my family took me for the weekend to Normandy were the american (canadian, and brittish) soldiers landed in WW2.  It was an incredible experience... it shocked me more than i expected.... I got to see the site were the craters still are there from the bombs that the airplanes threw, the germans bases have demolished, and even some tanks.  I also got the chance to visit the Caen's war museum, that is a must see for anyone-very well made-, and the american cemetery.  Out of all the stuff i saw, i have to admit that the 2 that shocked me the most were the craters and the german cementery.  I might sound airhead but the germans also lost a whole bunch of ppl, but the thing that shocked me the most were the tombstones....most of them were 18-22..... young kids, still teenagers.  Just something to think about u know? also the layout of it is different.  the crosses are balck and theres only a few ones, the majority are just little rectangles over the grass.

So that was my spring break! a true eurotrip that was whack and great, and lots of thinking about our history.

I hope you are all doing great, im sorry for any grammar or sentence mistakes ive lost alot of my english.... :/ I cant believe im coming back like in a month and a half and that im starting university just two days after that!!!!!!!! American UNiv in DC!!!! wooohoooooo!!!!! I truly hope that everyone is enjoying their exchange to the fullest, specially if theres only so much left.... it still not too late!!

I miss you all dearly,
