Sonja's Final Report

July 5, 2006

Hey,

this is my last report and I don’t really know what to say.

The last two weeks were kind of strange.
After my trip I moved back to my first host family and tried to live a normal life but it is different.
Everytime you do something you think this is maybe the last time I can do it. So everything you do gets a special before forgotten value.

On Saturday I will fly back to Germany not really sure what to expect.
Of course there is the final in the world cup but after that ???
Yesterday was 4th of July and my Rotary club had a big fundraiser at the beach (selling CHEESEburger and drinks and a lot of fun stuff). In the evening there was this huge firework.  We had special seats at the beach and were really close to the firework. It was amazing and impressed me especially because Marathon is a city of 5 000 people.

Today was my last Rotary meeting and so it was time to say  good bye.
It was very sad for me but I realized that I really became a part of the club.
I want to say thank you to all the people that where a part of my exchange and made this year possible. There are hundreds of people some of them I never met and other were with me together during the year.
Thank You are maybe just two words but these two words mean a lot. Thank You for the opportunity, Thank You for the Help, Thank You for being there whenever I needed you.......

This year was not only a year of fun and cool stuff it also was a year of personal growth and thousands of experiments and adventures.
When I arrived 11 month ago I knew that I would live and experiment a new culture but I learned something about the world.
This year tought me how teenagers can make the world smaller in so many different ways and how important it is to support them because they are our future.

At the end I can only say that I will never forget you all.

AND IT WAS THE BEST YEAR OF MY LIFE!!!!!!
