Robi's First Report

March 3, 2006

Hey everybody,

This will be my first report. I know I’m “a little bit late”!! *lol*

I don’t know where to start, because so much has happened since I’m here! Now WE are here since August, like 7 month, and for me it is like that I just arrived last month in Miami . The time ran so fast.

Ok, let’s start with my school. I’m going to the Palmetto Senior High School , which has like around 12000students!!! That is a big difference to my school in Germany , where I have only 1600students from the 5th to the 13th grade!! The good thing is that I’m going with Ilaria and Mayuko together in this school.

I can remember my first school-day very very good, because everybody was looking at me, and everybody was talking to each other and they whispered: “Is this not the German-kid?” Then, when I finally found out, what lunch do I have, 25people were standing around me and asking me questions about everything! It was amazing; I was so exhausted when I came home the first day!

I really can’t believe where the time went, it seems like that was last month! Orientation in Orlando , Disney-land, B-day parties from Henna, Mayuko, and Seacamp everything happened already!! I definitely have my best time over here. Everybody is so nice to me.

I really want to thank our District 6990, and also my Host-Club Miami. I’m so proud to be an exchange student from Rotary, because I’m representing my country and show my host-families and friends some of the German-culture. This is such a great program.

Marcos (Inbound from Brazil ) and I, did a lot stuff together, like going to the beach, or driving down to the Key Largo Anglers Club or other little things like shopping, which I will never get under control!!! The most things that I’m doing is to go the Malls shopping, or watching Movies there, 2times or 3times to the gym every week and going fishing as often as I can. Since I’m here, I’m going fishing almost every weekend with my friend Chris.

Around Thanksgiving I changed my Host-family! I really like my first host-family, that’s why I miss them. My new host-family is also very very nice. They are both Rotarians and they are sooo nice to me, we did and we will do a lot other fun stuff!

And I had my first dream in English by my currently host-family. This dream was pretty weird! …. I came back to Germany and was so happy to talk with all my siblings, but they were talking in a totally different language, which I couldn’t understand and all my friends were talking in English and then I woke up!!!...

Last weekend when we had the Outbound Orientation, Bob White was talking with us about going home in June. And at one point we talked about how it will be to go home in our home country. He said that we won’t have anymore friends as many as before. And also that when we are going back and we will tell our friends our stories, they will be very bored and jealous, because every year the same will happen. I didn’t really realized that, but when I talked to my Best-friend last week, he told me from some parties which happen every year!! And then he told me the fifth time that our Pool-Bar is closed since January. And when I’m telling him how great my time is over here, he is getting a little bit jealous of me.

I think that’s all for this month, and I promise that I will write another report!!

Thanx everybody for this year!

Bye bye ttyl
