Maria's Third Report

hey! how is everyone doing??? well I'm great and I have been having a lot of fun!!! We had one week of vacations and my family took me to Île d'Ouessant which is an island located next to Bretagne! it was beautiful!!!! we were there one week and the sites were amazing (check out the pics), the island's typical animal was the sheep and they were everywhere ALL OVER THE ISLAND!! We rented bicycles and that's how we get to other places in the island because there aren't any cars except for the people that live there which aren't much... After getting back from the island, I went to Bruges, Belgium and I LOVED IT!!! it was awesome and I took like ten thousands pictures hehehe and yes!! I ate a looooooot of chocolate! yummy!!! anyway... with the other exchange students, we decided that we were going to celebrate Halloween, dress up and go walking in Lille, it was fun!!! because everyone stared because almost Halloween is new around here and it people began to celebrate it only like 5 ago...

After that, school started again  and also there started to be problems in the neighborhoods that surround Paris; I didn't know a lot about what was going on because my family here doesn't have a tv at home (I know.... but I got used to it) so I got pretty scared when I saw a video on the internet and the other day a car was set on fire outside my school... I was very nervous but I calmed down when my host mom told me that we live in a very secure area and that nothing would happen to us here. Thank God everything is a little better now, and I hoped this whole thing ends soon...

I have been here 2 months and 7 days to be exactly and I feel like I have progressed a lot with my french. Everything is going great, and I have made a lot of friends! I think that's all for now... and I will keep you informed with everything that happens!!!
