Maria Reports on Her Euro Bus Trip June 30, 2006 |
|
Hey Everyone!!!
You guys have no idea how much I have been traveling this past month!! The bustrip was amazingly incredible!!! I had so much fun, that it was the best trip I have ever taken in my life! of course besides this year in France ha!. We started the trip with a tour of Paris, then we stayed at Reims for the night, and the next day we visited Strasbourg. I love the "centre ville" but I didn't like the city much; the next day we had a 4 hour bus ride and finally got to Munich, Germany!! It was amazing! I loved the city! we had a tour guide who took us sightseeing and explained a lot of interesting facts about the buildings, etc, we also visited the biggest brewery in Germany which is called "Hobbräuhaus", it was really impressive to see all the people in there drinking the typical liter of german beer, also the waiters and waitresses were dressed with typical german clothes, and there was a german band playing inside while also drinking beer ha!. The day after we took off really early to go to Salzburg, Austria. We had a 6 hour bus ride but we it didn't feel that long because the atmosphere inside the bus was awesome due to the fact that everyone was singing, laughing, sleeping, making jokes, etc... and plus, it was beautiful to see mountains with snow still on the mountaintop on the month of April, and I think I was pretty amazed of seeing mountains again because it was almost 7 years since I hadn't seen one, mmmh, maybe that was why I kept on filming and filming and filming just mountains for like 20 mins haha!. Salzburg is beautiful too! That's the city where Mozart was born, therefore they have a tons fo things regarding him like museums, statues, souvenir shops, etc; we also visited the cathedral and honestly I think that that one is the most beautiful cathedral I have ever been in. After Salzburg, we went to Innsbruck, Austria, which is the "Olympic City" where the first Olympics of 1976 were inaugurated... It was beautiful! we stayed at a hostel in the mountains! wow!!!. Then we went to Venice and I swear it was like a dream being there and in all these places!! We also made a quick stop in Verona (Romeo and Juliet city) and in Sirmione... beautiful!! then we went to Dijon, Lyon and Geneve (Switzerland) and we went to the United Nations. I am so happy I went to the bustrip, I met people I am never going to forget and of course I would have never imagine to go to those beautiful places!!!! I also went to the south of France for a week with my third host family
and it was finally hot out! because I was tired of cold weather... We
spend the week walking around small towns that had different activities
and festivals!! it was really nice!! but then when we came back to Lille
where we live which is located in the north of France it was cold again !!
and sometimes it is still cold in the month of June! I can't believe that
sometimes I am still wearing sweaters during summer... but then again when
it's sunny out it's amazing because people are out all the time and makes
it more alive!!! So I'll see everyone soon!!! Thanks again to everyone in Rotary!! I love you all!!! à bientôt!!!biz |
