Report VI

After my last report so much happened so fast that I didn’t get to write anything and I know if I don’t write now I won’t have time for a while again.

My little vacation in Florida was really nice. I went shopping, spent a lot of money and went to the Everglades . One day our neighbor took me out on his airboat and it was absolutely amazing.  I really feels like flying and we were somewhere out there only with nature around us, beautiful. And for the first time in my life I got to see real alligators and I was so excited about that because that was like a dream from when I was little. And it got even better. On my last day we went to the national park Shark Valley . It’s a bike path through the Everglades and right next to it is a canal full of alligators and other animals. It was so cool! We hardly got to ride our bikes because I took so many pictures.

Then there was the District Assembly. It was really nice seeing everybody again. When we had the flag parade I got to carry the Bahamian flag, I was so proud! I felt special, a little bit Bahamian….I am by now I guess, and that feels good.

After the Easter break I had my last week in uniform J and the weekend was my birthday. Some of my friends and my Rotary President helped me a lot to organize a wonderful beach party. That was probably the only birthday I’ll ever have at the beach. It was just great having so many people around me. At night I went out with some friends and I had a sleepover at the Presidents house. It was so much fun. Thanks again to everybody, especially David!

The following week was our “senior week”. We had different themes how to dress up everyday: career day, 60th&70th and wacky day. We didn’t do any work, just took a bunch of pictures. Our last day in school was Thursday; we had a special assembly, got little gifts, went bowling with the whole grade and got a special lunch with steak, cake and all kind of stuff. It was really nice and only a little sad because we all are going to see each other again for exams and graduation.

The same night the other exchange students came in and we had a wonderful weekend together full of Dolphin experience, beach, party, Petersons Cay National Park , pool, sun (sunburn), barbeque and shopping. The goodbye was sad especially for me because it was probably the last time I saw all of themL

Then I had my first week without school, a little bit relaxing from all that excitement. I met a former exchange student from Brazil . She was here 6 years ago and is now back to visit. We spent some time together at the beach. It was pretty cool comparing experiences.

I spend a couple days with a friend, we went on her boat, tubing and knee boarding. It was the most fun! Right after I got home from that I started packing and moved again, back to my first host family.

The weather was pretty bad the last couple days we even had a little tornado. I didn’t see it but my host mother and brother did, pretty scary!

Now I hope that it’s getting better again because this weekend my sister from Germany is coming in to visit for two weeks. I’m soooo excited about that. I hope we’ll have the best time. But it also shows me how soon my year is over because all the time I thought she is coming right before I leave. My mom back home is already counting days but I don’t even want to think about it. It’s too soon…

Anyway…..I’m having fun…hope you all tooJ
