Soccer Season in Brazil

December 22, 2005

Soccer season in brazil is like nothing i have ever experienced, the whole year is a giant soccer season, but i am in the beggining of the climb to the peak. It is very easy to tell that it is soccer season, because every couple of days the entire city is in the streets partying. Last week i slept over at my grandma's house, she lives in centro, and i was awoken by either gun shots or fireworks, acompanied by either screaming in fright, or yelling with delight, luckily it was the latter.

All the other exchange students are still in utter disbeliefe that people have christmas without snow, but for me, its pretty normal. The weather down here is alot like miami, but with much less humidity.

On january 9th i will be leaving for a month long trip to explore the north east of brazil, incuding many well known cities, such as Rio de Janiero and Sao Paulo, and i will be returning on the 10th of febuary, and tell you all about it.

And hopefully som time in later febuary, i will be going back to rio for carnival, and to go stay at the beaches.

Thats mostly all for now,
