Catherine Reports from Germany

Hello Everyone!

Well I left of with the euro tour. Now with my weekend in Göttingen with my friends. I was so happy to see them after such a long time (well it seemed like it) and  when we arrived on friday we were in total 150 people because it included the outbound students.

When my group and I arrived at the train station we saw a whole bunch of punks and police men. I was like, what are they doing, what is going on here,, found out 24 hours later that there was going to be a demonstration, meaning that on Saturday when we all went to the center of the city we could only be there for 1 hour! Thank goodness I was already there before, so i pretty much knew the city. But we had no time to shop or anythings,.. BORING!! what really schocked me was that when  we were returning, i saw a sign that said 'Nazi's Raus' on a house. And it was Big alright. That means Go out Nazi's or leave basically in german. I was with my friend laughing and cracking up  about jokes and  stuff that we have done when we come across this house were were like stones. It was a really weird feeling... So after that we had lunch and saw pictures from the Europa tour.  The outbounds had their information session meanwhile we had free time, but we had to be in the gym  cause of the demonstration.

In the evening and night we had a Swich(or switch)party!( geez i can't spell anymore goodness...) That means that a girl dresses like a guy and vs. It was soooooooooo funny, i got to put makeup on 3 guys, and at the end they really looked like girls ,it was a real good time. To bad John was no there...  I danced till 4 in the morning and on Sunday we had to leave early around 12 or so.  And I had to wake up at 7 or so , so that means only 3 or so hours of sleep! My best mexican friend Linda, was going back that wednesday so it was really hard to say goodbye to her. Then the Mex gang and a few brasilians and i decided to go to a bar, so we went and were there till 2 or so and talked and enjoyed the last moments.

When we were returning to Hannover , we were all basically dead. and all the guys went to sleep, everyone, and who had to stay waken up? ME! (basically i was one of the latest) and all the guys in my group had more sleep than i did! so i wanted to sleep to, but then i thought, no, we will miss out stop and nonono, i dont want somehting like that to happen, so i had to wait 1 1/2 hours. not so long, but i was really tired. So we changed trains, German and i to go to my town. I call 3 times, no one answers, they were at the baseball game of my host brother.  And German also calls his host parents, and guess what, no one answers. So that means that we had to do a 40 minute walk from the train staiton to my house. Of course it really only is a half hour, but we had to carry our luggage,  sleeping bag and isomatte and evryhting, so we went reaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllyy slow. On top of that , when we came home. NO FOOD READY OR LEFT! so i had to cook, that took another hour and then we went to watch tv. a documentation about the da vinci code and stuff... very interesting. then at 7 he left and i went to sleep. Next day i could not go to school cause my shoulder of both sides really hurt, but i meant really hurt, like i could move them casue of the whole weekend carying my bag.  So that was my weekend.

Part 2: Münster University field trip with class

Now comes my 1st field trip with my class.

It was a group about 20 people and 2 teachers. We meet at 7:00 am at the train station. everyhitng was going on fine, everyone TO-GE-THER!  so we then meet with our teacher at another stop. only a few minutes away form my town.  we traveled an hour maybe and then we had to change trains. But then we heard on the speaker that there was a delay with the next train (6 minutes) My teacher thought it was our train that was being late. So we go out and change and the destination is not right. it says another city rather than Münster, so either way our teacher makes us enter since we had a plan that said everyhting on there and that we either way had to go it. so we did, then she says no, next train other side, so we get out, so then she says, no go back not right, so we go back, and then she speaks with a guy form the train and then she says again come out! so since the girls were all in front we were the only ones that got out, meaning the trains tarted and left with all the guys in. and seeing one of my friends trying to open the door and couldn't and the train leaviong was just hilarious! so the were basically returning form where we were coming! so we had to wait 40 minutes for them to come back. It was really funny cause then we were teasing them with the how late they are and stuff.. but i could not se what i wanted to see. Like the point of there going was to see presentations of any subjects. so my friend and i wanted to see the cell biology and physiologie of animals. But since we were an hour late we could not go in anymore. thanks to the guys...  So we all splited and decided to go to the downtown. and it is so pretty! i went to H&M and got earings for 1 euro! isn't that cool! and real pretty ones too.  then we were kinda getting lost. I was thinking.... If i did not get lost in Budapest(in which we ened up on the other side of the city and took like an hour to go back to the youth hostel) or in Paris, im so not going to get lost here in which i can actually speak the language! So we found our way. so much stuff happened but i have to shorten it cause the bell is about to ríng for my next class... But i had a wonderful time weith my class and taking pictures is a really fun thing to do with my classmates. Then today i am going to Hannover to visit Conny  and it will be he mom's birhtday and stuff...and then Hiromi will do a pj party and then sunday is a distrikt conferance with Rotary...

So hope all of you are enjoying your time!

Many hugs!

Cathy
