Catherine's Europe Tour

April 25, 2006

Hey! How is everyone doing? Having a blast I believe. Anyways, it is about time that I wrote my April Report. I was on my Europe-tour for 3 weeks! I went to Prag, Budapest, Ljubliana (Slovenia), Vienna, Rome, Pisa, Florence,Venecia, Monaco, Nizza, Lyon, Paris, and Bruge (Spelling maybe wrong...)

I went with about 45 other exchange students and we were staying in youth hostels. It was the best experience ever. My first two weeks consisted of only partying.  We would wake up at 6 to be ready by 7 to have breakfast and then at 8 be outside. then the whole day walking and then return at around 6pm and have dinner, rest for an hour or 2 and then go back ot the city but this time for the disco. we would go there and stay until 3 in the morning or sometimes 3.30 meaning i would get to the YH at around 4 and taking a  shower then. Time i would go to sleep 4:30 or sometimes at 4. then wake up 2 or 3 hours later. That was my schedule for 2 weeks. Then when we were on our 3rd weeks, that was around nizza and so, we stopped partying becuase it was like 11 euro entrance meanwhile in the other places it was only like 3 or 5 euro entrance.

Did i buy many things? Of COURSE I DID!  to the point that when i was at venice  i spent like half of my money meaning that by the time that adventureous Cathy ended up in Paris she only had 6 euros left! Can u live in Paris with 6 Euros for 3 days! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! So what did i have to do, ask a friend for my money, which  he turns out to be in my same rotary club in germany so that is why it's easier for me to pay back.

Then to put the cherry on top, i ended up sick. yes. with fever for 3 days. meaning that i could not go to Brussels because of how sick and high my fever was! I stayed the whole day in the Youth hostel with another girl that was sick.

Oh , I forgot something... on the days that you had to change cities, and when u packed everything and you forgot something, you would become a slave. yes a slave. who ever bought you, you had to  obey the person for one day. meaning that if we had to walk  a pretty long distance to the youth hostel, then you had to carry the other person's stuff too (on top of your own , which is not sooo light..) and did Cathy ever became a slave? YES! How terrifying is that?! But thank goodness my owner was nice to me, so i only had to carry her stuff up to her bedroom and that was it, though i was only worth 2 Euros. Meanwhile, one of our tour guides (Rotexer) was worth 20 Euros for 2 days. How expensive is that?

I made new friends and hopefully we will all see each other again in the next Rotex weekend that is in May. It's too sad how time went so fast and to me it just seemed like a dream in which i never woke up. It so so beautiful that experience, i hope that all of you will or have done something like that.

Other than that, I am with my new host family. They are so coooooooooooooooooooooooooool!!! they are really nice people. My host mom is a pastor and my host dad is the one who cook's and stuff... isn't that interesting? and the house has 4 floors. and guess where cathy sleeps? ON THE FOURTH FLOOR! So I have to go up and down the stairs every single day like 10 times. I think i will end up hating stairs, just like my mom in Florida. I think 1 floor houses are WAY MUCH BETTER! hehehehe...

i have 3 hostbrothers and 1 host sister , they are really nice and i go with my oldest host brother and sister to play baseball on thursdays. This Sunday is the confirmation of my ex.host sister and host brother from my second host family. I am really happy to go !

Other than that , it is getting warmer here! it is really nice in my little town. Only 12 weeks till I go back! Oh my, time is really flying!

Hope to see you guys soon! take care!

Cathy
