During the World War when France was invaded by the Germans, the built this fort with painted windows.  Yes they are fake! the were meant to deceive the troops, and boats that were coming in.

Passage de Pommerais in Nantes.  Its an ancient merchand hall filled with little stores and decorated with renaissance statues.

The region where i was for Christmas break was known for their salt.  they built this natural pools to attract the water from the ocean, and on summer as the water evaporates huge amounts of salt mountains are gather and sold without treatment of anything.

I'm having so much fun.  Here are more pics, this is from a trip with the 1st host family to St.Malo in Oct

St. Malo is surrounded by a wall, it is actually below sea level, and this protects the city.

I have the coolest backyard! there are apple, pear, peach, nut, grape, prune, cherry, strawberry,  and rasberry trees and bushes! there are also tomatoes and lettuce and things i dont know how to translate...
