We stayed with my host mother's aunt, "Tante" Anke.
She lives in an apartment that is literally surrounded by the buildings
of the Paulaner brewery, thus setting the tone for the weekend.

Ehrfurt (September 11, 2005) Erhfurt is the capitol of Thuringia and is less than an hour from my house. It has a beautiful altstadt that is full of amazing well preserved buildings. T he center of the city is the Domberg, where these photos were taken |

098 - Host sister Ulrike and I with our zuckertüten. On their first day of kindergarten, German children recieve a "zuckertüte," a paper cone filled with chocolate. Since it was my "first day" my family decided to celebrate this tradition.. |
The Apolda Rotary club is hosting three American exchange students. We will rotate through three host families. This picture shows the three of us with the graduate students who were our private German teachers for the first week. Fellow exchange students Jordan and Alexandra are on the left & right... |
