Another week, another report...
I've been having a so-so week. On Sunday, I woke up at 5 in the morning to go to the mountains with my host dad's brother, wife, neice, and my host mom. It was really fun. My "cousin's" name is Kaio, just like my friend, so for the longest time I thought I was invited to go to the mountains with my friend. Nobody cared to explain... Arg... My cousin is super nice though.
The place we went to was Kamikochi. It was great, but there was just one thing the bugged me: I've seen the mountains before. It's cold already, and we're going some place colder?! The place was frosted in the morning, but it melted later on. Later that day, I saw the Matsumoto Castle. It was just a sight seeing adventure, that was cold. That's all I can say... Oh, and on the way to and back, I saw a chimp crossing sign on the highway.
This week has been kinda weird. I've been freaking out (to myself) again cause of the lack of guy friends. It's really hard only having girlfriends... Sometimes I just wanna rip out my hair, or grab some random guy and shake him and yell "WHY DO YOU ALL HAVE TO BE SO SHY?!" I could... I know how to say it, but whatever...
I had a bit of a breathrough on Tuesday, during English class. I really don't like that class. You think I'd love it cause it's easy, but the teacher make me answer the questions and stuff. Um... You know I know this stuff, dude. Why don't you ask the kids who need to learn it? I also have to read aloud to the class a lot. But, on Tuesday, there was mass chaos, so after I read, I hid with these other guys who were sitting near the teacher's podium. In the dialogue, there was a guy named Adams and the teacher grouped up some kids and said that they are going to be the Adams family. The guys I hid with, and I, hummed the Addam's Family theme, and I tried to do my Cousin It imitation but he interpreted it as the girl from the Ring. But for once I wasn't being acknowledged for doing something stupid, like tripping or wearing my gym pants backwards... which I have done...
But man, Japanese Rotary doesn't expect much from us exchange students. I mean, they don't have time to plan outings for us, but they always make sure we have fun presentations to do, which is of course, what we really want. </sarcasm>
Thursday, I had to leave school early to do a long presentation to Elementary school students. I was told this on Monday. I was of course, paranoid but I super glad it turned out okay. The kids loved me, my blazer, and the pictures of Florida. I wish they were as enthusiastic about my presence as my classmates. They all sang a traditional Japanese song, and when we went to the cooking room, a little girl gave me a little clip with a music note on it, that she made, for my blazer. I almost had a tear. It was so sweet. Some other girls gave me a cool braid thing that I also put on my blazer...
I helped them in cooking class. We made scorn. It was good. I'm gonna go back there another time, to present to another class. Speaking of class, I'm in HTML class and should be working. I'm bad. Peace, everybody! |
