IT SNOWED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
on the 9th on November I saw snow!
it was in the morning when I had woken up as
normal and was getting dressed when I looked out the window and I saw
everything white! I stood there for a while just staring out not
understanding, and then I ran out of the room and told my host mother
"its snowing!!!!" obviously she wasn't that enthusiastic about
seeing snow so soon, and I ran outside in my pajamas and stood there, I
didnt remember snow from when I was a little kid in Italy so it was
pretty much the first time I saw snow.
Unfortunately it was just a snow day and the snow
only stayed in my village up in the hills but in the city the snow
melted quickly,
I can't wait till I see snow again!
Soon I will change host families and won't be
living in Orfû anymore which is good and bad because Orfû is beautiful
and more like a village but there is nothing there except one
"bolt" (store), 4 artificial lakes and houses, and the last
bus that goes there is at 7 o clock p.m. which is very early!
On the other hand the city will be much better, I
will be closer to my school and will be able to stay out longer than 7!
School is getting very annoying, I understand
enough hungarian to get around but not enough to understand my teacher's
lectures, so I dont do anything in school. Sounds good not to do
anything in school right? no homework or projects, I disagree I'd rather
be learning something than just sitting there. It's very boring, and I
am getting a little frustrated because I feel like I am learning too
slowly. Plus I am not used to studying for a language, back in the U.S.
I never studied in the spanish class because it was so easy and now if i
dont keep practicing I forget all the words I learned!
Well, about a month ago I went to Mateszalka with
the Rotary club, we stayed in the university dorms, honestly, there
is nothing special about that little town, we saw a couple of old
churches, very small!
but the best and funnest part was when we went
back to the dorms and they invited us all to learn traditional hungarian
folk dancing! it was really fun and tiring! we were there till about 1 o
clock at night dancing, and we were all exhausted in the end.
I have also been to Győr, another city in
Hungary. We were all there for a birthday party for a couple of the
students in the rotary club, the city is much more different than mine,
you can see the Austrian influence since it is so close to Austria, we
had a lot of fun, we went to a club, the day after I stayed with my
good friend from Ecuador and he showed me the whole city.
I am having a lot of fun here, time is flying way
too fast, I have already been here for more than two months! I can't
believe it!
I still haven't gotten homesick yet and maybe it
will come soon!
Be safe!
Viszlat!
