Julia Visits San Francisco!

April 13, 2005

Hey everybody! I know you didn't hear from me in a while, I apologize for that. But I'm still here and enjoying my time more than ever!!! Ok, so what happened in the last few month:

Well, since January I live with the Guisasolas, a Brasilian family and some of the kindest people I've ever met. Really, I'm so blessed to have such great hostparents during my stay here.

Then of course, school started again and, well, we got new classes, new teachers, new people. My classes are fine, I made a lot of new friends. Cypress Bay is a really cool school, everything just gets very routinely... In the beginning of February I had my best friend from Germany visiting me for a week. And that was just so awesome! We had a great time, I showed her around and we had a lot of fun! So now she makes all of my friends at home jealous about how cool living in Forida is...

Then we also had all these great trips with the other exchange students: Seacamp, the Indian Hammocks, the Everglades Trip etc. People, you are so great. You don't know how happy I am to know you guys, I will never forget our awesome time and miss you sooo much! This goes to all the exchange students that I was so fortunate to meet, as well as all the great Rotarians who are making our stay so unique.

Meantime I also had a lot of fun going to the Renaissance Festival, visiting South Beach a couple of times or just having a great time with my friends here.

In the end of March we had our Spring Break. I hope everybody had a good time? I propably had the best I could have ever imagined: My hostmom took my me and my hostbrothers to SAN FRANCISCO!!!! Considering that I had never been to the west coast, that was really the best place to go. We had such a wonderful time there, did alot of sightseeing from the Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman's Wharf to the the fascinating Chinatown and I really fell in love with that city, although it's really quite different from Florida. I am really so lucky to be given such great opportunities and I am so thankful for that!

Easter was great, too. I spend a lot of time with my hostfamily, we went to church, cooked and baked and had loads of fun searching the house for easter eggs, so that I didn't even miss my any of my usual German Easter rituals. So now it's already April and I'm about to change hostfamilies again. I just can not believe how fast time is passing by, and thinking about that I have only three and a half months left is totally unreal and scarry to me, so let's not think about that.

So again, THANK YOU to everybody -Roarians, friends, hostfamilies etc.- who are making my stay here so uncomparable awesome, THANK YOU for your love, help and support! See U soon! Love always, Julia
