Jerad's First Report October 14, 2004 |

Hallo! Here
i am; in Germany, for approximately one month as of now. I have
settled in my host family and school just fine. It is not like home, but
my host family and new friends have made me very comfortable. Sadly i
cannot say the same for the weather. Although it is only
fall, the present temperature feels like a Bahamian winter. For that
reason i may find it necessary to adopt the habits of a grizzly bear.
May be add a few pounds for warmth this winter. ha ha ha!! i am
only kidding, although my host mother makes a wonderful
pot i think an investment in some winter clothes will be sufficient. The Deutshce language at this moment is my only challenge that i will slowly but surely conquer with the help of those around me . This minor obstacle has not stopped me from traveling around my city and to neighboring cities whenever the opportunity has arised. In the weeks to come i will take my first trip out of Germany and i will travel to Rome. I am looking forward to this and all of my future trips that will made through Europe in the year of my exchange. It is my wish that all student on exchange from district 6990 and all districts where this awesome program is active, enjoys their year and makes this experience one that they will cherish throughout their lives as i know i will. May God bless and keep us all as we continue to make this step into the wider world. J.D. Hollingsworth |
