Jerad Brings in the New Year German Style!

January 30, 2005

Rotary Youth Exchange
District 6990,

January began on joyful note and remained great until complete. The following is a brief account of 2005's first month.

My friends and I brought in the new year partying German style, It was great! A house party with 17-19 year olds is a great way to celebrate. With the new year in and no school for one more week I was presented with opportunities to travel around Germany. My host family took me to a few cities and I made a trip to other cities with my friends from school. That week was truly sweet, I got a chance to see and learn interesting things in my travels.

The weeks that followed I was in school. The majority of my classmates were doing field practicals, so those that remained were placed in one group. During that time every day was a half day. That allowed me to afternoons in the city. I have a few favourite places in the city, so it is always good to go even if it is not the weekend.

This is also the last month that I am in this host family. The time here was lovely but I now must move in my new host family, heard that they are really good people. Tomorrow I meet them most likely i will like them. From what I was told they are great folks.

This month went by so fast, in my opinion a little to fast but it was good. 2005 is blossoming into a beautiful year, a year that will continued to be enjoyed. I hope all are enjoying themselves and making the best of your year aboard. So please have a great time guy!! goodbye and God bless.
