"I am living my dream."

December 30, 2004

the time is passing by so fast.. way too fast, i think!!! and now there is just 6 or 7 months left.. but i will worry about that later.. now i just want to take the best of it!!

The disney trip to orlando was awsome!! so much people who are livingn the same kind of life i am rigth now.. so much new things, and the exitines to experience everything.. i met so much new friends, and we had the best time ever!
that`s also very nice, that i will meet everybody in a month, down in the keys, during sea camp.

the next weekend was awsome! we, the exchange students from the district 6990 were in the keys, it was so much fun, but we also missed Julia!  i hoped that she would have been there with us!  i experienced my first chanukka party and also i experienced the first time on the keys.. it was so pretty in there!
the same day we left from the keys was also the same nigth i had the christmas party of the rotary club of ft. lauderdale. me, and my hostparents Sally and Steve went there. it was alot of fun too, and it was mice to see the rotarians.

the next week passed by very quiqly...
my school had its finals, so it was a pretty easy week in the school.. i also  baked some finish christmas bakeries at home.. i kind of missed that... well i dont know.. because it was a HUGE  mess after i finished... ups.. but it was a lot of fun still...

then the brake begun.. The Rogers took me and Dani to see the Christmas pagent in the Furst Babtis church... it was like a broadway show, so breath taking !! and chrismas passed by.. i have to say, that it was a very, very nice christmas. We went to a very pretty christmas mass, and the atmosphere in the church was just unbeliveable! The christmas morning was something new to me... because in finland santa brings the presents in the middle of the day in the christmas eve..
i got very nice presents, and i think one of the best things i got, was the one, that Sally is taking me to the course, where they are teaching us how to make scrab books..

i am so blessed and thankful to get to know family like the botkins are. They have made my experience to be once in a life time experience, and the whole visit has been just great!
susanna and maggie, my hostsisters have been awsome! they are so kind and i really feel like a older sister to them.
Sally and Steve Botkin have been just  wonderful host parents! and i can`t thank them enough!
i really feel like a home when i am living with them! We have experienced so much together.

now i am in orlando with my next host family, Kathleen and Mike Casey and their sons Christopher and Donavan. We are over Kathleens sisters house..
Our trip begunn on the 27th, when we left to Gainsville. There we met alot of Mikes family, and we went also briefly to St. Augustine... We hang around at the beach and i just have to say... it took my breath away!!!
also the spring river was very interesting... we saw alot of exotic animals living in the wild.. a lot of turtles, monkies and alligators..
The whole family is very nice and i am also very exited to be a part of their family, and i am sure it will be fun..

i can`t say how much i have enjoyed these past four and a half months.. it`s just amazing, how much things has happened.. everybody is so welcoming, and i can`t say how glad i am to do this whole program! this is the thing i have always wanted to do.. and now.. i am living my dream..

Eventhoug it was a litlle bit confusing in the beginnig..sometimes a lot.. now when i have used to it, it`s just wonderful!! The first host family, Botkins, helped me so much to get the hang of everything, that i really dont know what i would`ve done without them!

the trips have been awsome, and all the things, that rotary and rotarians have made for us, everybody, all the wonderful people i have got known in to, the rotarians, host family, friends, school, ! i really can`t thank you all enough!

But now the year moves on, and i really am looking forward to do everything!

Thank you!!!

Love,Elena
