Anju Goes to Lapland! December 12, 2004 |

Not much in Scandinavia going down. Just me spending lots of money
for Christmas. Haha! Exchange students are like college kids. "Hey
you wanna do something?" "Nah man, im broke." I swear
everyone wants to do stuff now im just confused as to where they get
money for it all!?! None of them have jobs... i wish i could get a job
here. Id be doing stuff and making money. Oohh welll...
yes well, went to Lapland! Fun was had by all. the first day we went skiing, which kinda sucked cause i couldn't get a snowboard casue there were none. and we didn't even go to Levi which is where they always go, we went to this really small place. Everyone said it sucked but i wouldn't really know, i mean huge hill, snow, sounds good to me. What more do you want? Yeah so everyone did that, i just kinda ran around with Marcus and bothered Megan. The next day i went again, hoping id get a board but didn't. I guess i didn't really want one though. Snowboarding is kinda scary. So i spent the day in some like Inn thing with a fireplace and all that good stuff. Cooked some Makkara and just warmed. The third day they took us to this Traditional Reindeer farm or something...i don't really know i was kinda sleeping the whole time. Bad habit of mine. But Malory told me that there is some tradition that when you kill a reindeer you bite its testicles off with your teeth...and then i was really glad i slept through it. After movies and presentations gaylor we got to feed some reindeer which was hilarious. They would take anything from me, and they tired to charge Malory so we just kinda wandered away... After all that they took us to go ride in a sleigh with reindeer pulling them and it was kinda lame, they went so slow...and i was really cold. We also go to dog sleigh which was awesome because they were like eager to go and went really fast. On the last day of Chris...i mean Lapland trip we got to go to Santa's place or something like that. All i know is that it was right on the Artic Circle and we ate ice cream outside. Which was kind of ironic. And i spent a lot of money. :( The weather in Tampere and been kinda wonky. one day its freezing the next its above 0 so the road are all icy and good stuff like that. So when im just walking and not sliding around on the ice is when i fall. So I've got a good sized bruise. Aaaaannndd im going to a Ice Hockey game today. Go Tampere! Tampere is best! Heck Finland beat the Florida Panthers. And i love how the Finns ask me, "Hey! Do you know (some Finnish guy on the Florida Panthers) He lives in Tampa!!" And i just kinda look at them weird... Enough blabbing i have pictures! That is all. Christmas is soon so, Hyvää Joulua ja Onnellista Uutta Vuotta!! |
