Christmas and New Years's in Florida!!! :O) January 18, 2004 |

Well, this report is a little bit late again.
I'm sorry, this month was very busy. This was my first Christmas far
from my family and my friends in another country. In Florida,
Christmas is very different for me. Here we started the celebration
in early December. Everywhere you can see the lights and everybody
was excited. For me the funniest thing was when I saw Christmas lights on the palm trees. This made me think of the warm weather, the beach, and the hot sun - not christmas like it is in Hungry. Warm Christmas's aren't that bad, but I miss the snow and everything we do at home. Christmas time was my first realy feeling of homesickness. 2 days before Chreistmas I went to Julia's host family's house and we went to the Office Depo Center where her first hos mother sungs. Over 10,000 people was there: It was wery large!!! After the comcert I slept over in hre house so the Dec.24 morning was with Julia. It was realy good. After I went home and I called my family. I talked with everybody and I miss them a lot. My host family was very nice but it is not the same as being with my family. In the evening we saw the "Polar Express" than we went to sleep. I wanted to opened my present frome my family and my doyfrien that had sent to me. Claire, my host sister asked me if i will not open presents Dec.24 night then Hungary. She wanted to have me open a present Dec.25 like my host family.Santa Claus brings the present on Dec.24 night in U.S.A, but in Hungary we have Dec.6 Mikulas day (Santa Claus day) I wait one night and in teh morning we opened the presents........ My host family were Very Nice with me!!! I was kind of said and happy, but this was a very pecial Christmas......... :O) New Year 2005!!! I went to my school frend's house in Ft. Lauderdale. Her name is Ana Falvia and she is from Brazil. My other frend Evely she from Eqvador was thre also. First we went to Ana's famlily's house for a littel party. Everybody was very frendly. After we went to the beach with some other frends and we spent the last minutes of 2004 in the Beach!!! It was amazing!!!!!! This was the only thing I wanted to do my New Year in Florida. I can't be on the beach in Hungary- ther were a lot of people and the weather was very nice! I was very happy because my New Year was very beautiful with my friends. I was kind of sad because i didn't stay with the other exchang students and missed my Hungarian frends and family!!! I want to tell to the Rotay and everyone Thank You for thsi oportunity..... I am very glad I'm staing here and I can enjoy every minute in Florida!!! I want to tell for you guys I love you! I hope we'll realy enjoy the start of 2005!!!!!!!! Love, ADRI |
