Well this is the never ending report. You see I started a few weeks ago and was going to finish it send it and then write another before I left but time has me by the ass. So I just keep adding to it. The end is so near I can almost see where water meets the sand. AAAHHHH no I don’t want it to end. I feel like the last 10 months I have been riding these amazing waves. It’s like a perfect day of surf. But now the sun is going down and my family is calling me to go home and get in the car so we can have dinner. Well ok the truth is I have eaten enough Chinese food. I really am tired of rice and cold chicken. You see the Taiwanese well they like to dry blood and put into cube form and serve this for dinner. Trust me it sounds a lot better than it tastes. But I never turn anything down just because I feel badly and I don’t want to insult any one.

I had the freshest tuna of my life this last month. I went with my Host family on a day trip to the south of Taiwan. We went to a fish market because it‘s tuna season. I love sushi and sashimi. But I had never experienced this before. We walk up to one of the hundred best smelling fish stands. Point at this huge tuna. Now I know why we catch dolphins when we fish for tuna, you see these tunas were just as big as a dolphin. They were huge. He pulls out this tuna that is well half my size. Lays it down on a cutting board it was still alive. It was flapping and well it was alive as nemo, alive. I’m sure it wasn’t like all that happy looking at the sword and being out of water. The fisherman asks me if I want some. I was like sure. Guessing well he’s going to pull out a prepared piece from the back or something. Just like they do in supermarkets. Well he turns around and pulls out Bertha. Well that’s what I named his samurai sword he used to slice this tuna that is still alive. HE cuts it in half. You see the Asians like everything, really fresh, really, really fresh. He cuts out a piece of this semi live tuna.

It is presently sliced in many pieces. He hands me some of what he described with such emotion as the best part of the fish. It was funny. Here's this man with a sword in one hand, blood on his shirt and he’s holding the greatest piece of tuna the world has ever seen, and he is describing it to me like it was art. And I'm thinking what I need right now is a Cuban sandwich and some black beans and rice. See I wouldn’t have a problem with the rice if I could just have Cuban black beans over it. But yeah no black beans. So it sucks a little. I have tried to explain the amazing taste of black beans with onions to these people but they just keep handing me soy sauces. No I want black beans not soy sauces. OHH ok yes we have here. I give you look like buy good price. No black beans. OK so it’s the endless game of the dog chasing its tale. NO black beans. Ohh and the tuna well it was great and after I ate one well I was handed 4 more and then a beer from the butcher. We became brothers in second. Family bonded over raw fish a sword and thumbs up.

I just got back from a 15day trip with Vanessa. (Note I wrote this part 15 days ago, so I really didn’t just get back, this is the never ending report. Go do your self a favor and take a bathroom brake.)We went all around Taiwan. (No really go take a bathroom brake.) We went to Keen ting “south’s point” for a few days, it was so cool. There were no waves but it was such a great time. “No waves means more time with girl friend. More time with girl friend means happy girl friend. I’m learning the laws of life so young.” We went to this place that some foreigner told me about. It was cool because we had no idea how to get there it was a like this adventure of all of adventures. We ran into wild animals, almost got ran over by trucks and then found the fire. It’s like a volcano. But not. (Javy what do you mean a volcano but not?) Well it was this area that has natural fire from the earth’s core that rises through these rocks. Look I am not a scientist and can’t explain the way it worked but my theory is. THE JAVIER THEORY {back ground music dun dun dun duuuuun }, “God got bored and made rocks produce fire he is cool like that.” I am sure it was like this dangerous hazard area but there was this lady there cooking corn on the cob on this rock. I was like ok wow I have seen it all. Corn cooked over a possible volcanic eruption area. If it ever blows this lady is going to get cooked and have popcorn. The funny part was Vanessa. She was standing on this rock taking an amazing picture of the fire in the middle and I was like, “Hey baby I think all these rocks have fire”. And just as the words came out of my mouth she all like oh look fire at my feet. And she’s like aaahhh my feet hot hot hot oh ah. So yeah my girl walked on fire like the tribal people you see on the discovery channel. Too cool. From there we raced to the ocean to see the sunrise. We found the most perfect place. Well ok I am a guy and like any guy we don’t have a clue where we are going. And like every girl they know we have no clue where we are going and they always will ask THE question. “Baby my sugar plum who I love so much, do you know where you’re going? And I gave the answer that ever true man should give. My love, of course I know where we are going over there to the sunset. And I point off to the sunset. But really I couldn’t find a road that leads to the beach. Every thing had a dead end. Then just when I was like all lost on purpose taking her through the scenic route. (Rules of life, Rule 405: If some one ever says ohh we are going to take the scenic route, they just don’t know how to get there.) God at the moment was all like, “Ok well you should have stopped and ask for directions you idiot, and listen to the women. I gave to you women to guide you. And he was like ok I will help you. Then I found this little road by luck. And we end up not on beach but a port. And I look over to Vanessa and say yeah this is where I wanted to come. The port is so much better than the beach. We climb the sea wall and in perfect timing. Well I think God just gave me a few minutes because I was lost. We sat and watched an amazing sunset. It was price less. So I learned its ok to be hard headed and not ask for directions because just by luck you find your way…. Haha kidding. I should always listen to my girlfriend when I am lost. Next day we then got a bus then a train then a car to Tai Tong “a city on the south east coast” so we could get a boat to go to Green Island. Well we get the boat. And that was another experience that you just would have had to be there for. We get on the boat and it’s packed. Like 300 screaming kids and their parents all taking pictures of the ocean and not caring that their kids are all misbehaving. What every body wants on a 45min boat trip. So we are 20 min into our boat trip listening to karaoke. And then….. We hit an iceberg. NO but it felt like it. Everything stopped. The boat died. No power. The looks on the people’s faces were priceless. AAHHH I don’t know how to swim. We are all going to die AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH. No really the Taiwanese swim like the Titanic. I thought well maybe we hit a whale. Cool lets go look. But no we weren’t that lucky it was that the motor died. I was disappointed; I didn’t bring any duck tape with me I was sure it could have helped. So there we were in the middle of the ocean. I began to hum the tune of Gilligan's island. You could see Green Island a good 2 hour swim away and Taiwan a good 2 hour swim away. I had no fear. I can swim and I had my body board and fins with me. AHAHAH. Vanessa and I sat on the boat for an hour and a half thinking to our selves’ wow this sucks. And then the engines started and every one was like yeah ok karaoke is back on. But no we got to the island. We soon got our equipment and went around the island got away from it all it was an amazing 2 days. We found the coolest little hidden water falls and saw so many amazing looking fish. But like the responsible youth we are, we didn’t have any sun block on. So by the afternoon we were like lobsters. It was so funny because we had been making fun of the people there all day. They were all covered head to toe in clothing wearing jackets, visors sun glasses, SPF 1000 and gloves and umbrellas so the sun couldn’t see them. They believe the pure white skin resembles beauty. You ask me I think no sun makes you like half dead. There we are shirts off in our bathing suits and flip flops eating up the island. But yeah the last laugh was on us when we were like I can’t move because it hurts. Ahahaha. I should of listen to my mother, a smart wise woman, always wear sun block. Well, it was an awesome trip. Something I will never forget. A breath taking experience. We swam in the largest tide pools. And climbed the mountains around and even saw frogs having sex. So how many people can say I saw frogs having sex in Taiwan on Green Island? Can you? And I have a picture. Priceless. Ha-ha. Then we had to leave and get on the boat. We prayed before entering and it worked we got there in 45 min. I was afraid of having a Gilligan's island adventure. I didn’t have any duct tape. What would I do? But we got in to Tai Tung and headed to the train station hoping to get a train straight to Taipei. But the only train was at 9pm and that would take us half way and transfer and get another in Hualen at 1130pm and end up in Taipei at 530am. So we were like yeah ok cool awesome that’s great sign me up and it was only 5pm. AAAAHHHHHH…But what can you do? Nothing, go with the flow, it’s an adventure after all. And it all went well. I met the most interesting person. He just got out of jail and was heading home. He was a gangster and had some cool tattoos. He was a nice guy. Asked a thousand questions like every Taiwanese person. Why did you come to Taiwan? WE are such a small country. But his tattoos were amazing. A lot of them he got in prison. But they were done with a stick. An ancient way not with modern techniques. Really cool. (Something I learned here from traveling is always speak with every one, but don’t talk too much.) Then after it all we ended up in Taipei. I went to get a place to stay. I went to stay at a hostel. The Happy Family Hostel, but you also had too many happy roaches that came with the happy room so I got lucky and found the Taipei hostel that was perfect and cheap for a week. Then it was just Vanessa and I hanging out, we went shopping and spend all the time we could together before she left. It was an amazing time. We went to the biggest club in all of Asia that just open. It’s called MOS. Ministry Of Sound. It’s like another world in there. It was cool but the crowd was not like normal. They didn’t really do anything they just stared at people and looked around and not danced. I didn’t like the mood but the DJs were amazing. And the club was awesome looking. I was blown away. Then a few days later I went to the airport to see Vanessa off to Brazil where she lives. It was so sad. I cried, she cried, we cried, and it hurt I felt like I was torn apart and alone but its ok I see her in Aug when she comes to study with me at FAU. So it’s all good, God is great. I came home to Shuili then went back to Taipei had my last good byes with the Taipei rotary. And now well just spending the last of time in Shuili. Trying to still learn new things every day before I go home. My river surfing has gotten really good. I have now ridden down the river on my board. I don’t have kayak so I have to use my body board and fins. Those rocks pop out of nowhere, it is so much fun. WE had a swim competition the other day at school. I swam the 50m and the 100m. And I won both. You see these people do not know how to swim even though Taiwan is an island, it’s funny. And now soon I leave. But my last adventure is on its way. It’s not for sure its still like coming down the wire. But I put it in god’s hands so I can go. You see I am planning on climbing one of the tallest mountains in Asia. I am just waiting for the permit. I will let you all know.

I have been working on my meditation a lot more it has improved my tai chi. And well I will send another report again right before I leave. Much love to all and thank you for all your prayers. Living my dreams.
