Hey Y'all,

Well, I'm officially having the time of my life here in France!

I started Premiere L about three weeks ago. I wasn't too sure if the people would be any different, but i knew that at least i would have a better schedule. Well, the moment i arrived I made friends. My new class was very very friendly. Premiere L is smaller, about 15 students, and a lot more fun. The people in Premiere S weren't as open and friendly. I was talking to one of my friend's host-mom about the difference in attitude. She told me how her daughter also switched out of Premiere S for the same reason. I also started eating at the cantine. I don't mind it at all. It just gives me more time to hang-out with my friends. Oh and i think going to McDonalds on friday is going to become a weekly thing. We finish at noon on friday, and well McDo is better than the cafeteria lol!  Anyhow... Wow!! You'd besurprised the difference friends could make. A couple weekends ago I went to Nantes with my friend, Wendy. I had a great time. We walked from shop-to-shop talking about the differences between the US and France. She's a lot of fun to be around. She invited me to go to Paris for this coming up weekend, but I can't make it.

At school they just added this new program called TPE. Basically, we all form groups and decide on a topic that we will later give a presentation on. I'm in a group with Aurelia, Darwin, and Pierre. After, a lot of arguing we finally settled on Sangatte. It turns out that I will also be at the disposal of my classmates LOL. Anyone, who is doing anything that involves the US or the English language can come to me for help. I've already helped my friend Wendy by steering her to the Rotary website because her project is on exchanges between the US and France.

Well, although I'm in France i did manage to celebrate Thanksgiving! I went to my friend Kara's house for a thanksgiving feast last friday! There were about a total of 6 Americans. We each brought something for the meal. I brought pumpkin bread. It was really wierd. For the recipe you're supposed to buy canned pumpkin. Well, they don't have that here in France so I actually started of with a real pumkin. It was kinda funny. Because the measurements here are also different I just added things as I wanted lol.  I'm surprised it turned out so well.

The other night I had dinner with all the lady rotarians. It was really nice, except for the fact that when i left the restaurant i felt like i would topple over from how much food i managed to stuff into me. At the dinner I sat next to my next host-mother. I feel bad because I was a bit tired so I didn't do much talking.  She seems really nice. She lives on the other side of Pornic, but that's nothing. Pornic is tiny!

This friday I'm going to start gymnastics! A girl in my class told me about it when she found out that i was interested. I went two weeks ago to have a look at the class. Actually, it's not much of a class. Everyone pretty much does what they want. That's why i was so surprised when I saw a few of the kids doing some pretty tough backflips. Anyhow, i gotta go, the mediatheque is closing in about five minutes. BYE**! - Rachel
