Hello everyone.

Well I am sick once again.  What a surprise!?!?!?!? That may be do to the fact that Germany's weather is AWFUL!!!! And it did not help that i just returned from Münster (ROTEX weekend meeting) where it was 5 degrees below zero!  I can' t  take it anymore.  And it's alwys raining, and i am alsways on my bike.  A couple of weekends ago we were caught in a pretty bad downpour on our way to a party and by the  time i got there i was completely soaked!!!  horrible!  but they say the worst is yet to come.

on the bright side:  münster was very nice.  we saw the christmas market and had glühwein and wurst. we went into the city's museum with our tour guide instead of walking around münster because it was hailing.  ROTEX here is great i must admit.  i went ice skating. i am glad to report no falls!!! and i even got to do the little 180 spin!!! i was very proud of myself.

paris-  last weekend i was in paris with my school and the exchange students from north carolina who were in my school for 2 weeks.  paris was not what i expected, but it turns out that what i experience was actually better than what i expected!  exhausting though .. i went dancing with some friends friday night and they drove me to school so i could catch the bus t oparis at 2 am!  i sorta slept on the bus and we arrived in paris at 8 am.  we got a short bus tour of the city.  we went into the church of the sacred heart, Louvre, and walked down the street where Moulin Rouge (sorry i forgot the name) but it's the one lines up with sex shops. don't worry: we were with chaperones and it was too early in the morning so the shops were closed. then we had freetime  and ended up walking in mad circles around paris. i swear we walked 3 times in the opposite direction on the Champs d'Elyssee.  but finally we went up to the Arc d 'Triumph and the eiffel tower and just saw gorgeous architacture, and parisian shops.

we ended up not having thanksgiving dinner like we planned.  my friend and i are too committed to our extra curricular activities to give them up one evening to cook,. so we skipped the festivity.

my family is doing great !  notice: i say my family and not  host family, because i feel so at home here.

donyelle, i wrote you an email and you have not responded. there is definately a communication glitch. my email is the one posted on the rotary site.

language:  guess what!!!  i was at a farewell party for the Amis, and the one guy asked me to say something in german thinking it would be really funny due to the typical Ami accent, and then i said it and got no laughs because they say my accent is toooo weak to make it funny! cool eh? i am understanding a lot. i am even reading a novel in german. and my german teacher loves me now because i answer questions in his philosophy class.  i am thinking of enrolling in uni at düsseldorf for the spring semester... why? ... because i can..

i guess thats all for now.  homesickness has kinda kicked in a lil' but i am combatting it vehemently (along with my cold).  i wish you all a nice WARM christmas and a happy WARM new year!

love, Flavia
