| The 2002 District Conference for
Rotary District 6990 was held on Grand Bahama Island at the Our Lucaya
Resort. The 2002 - 2003 Inbound Youth Exchange Students participated
in the conference, along with many District 6990 Interact students, from
Florida and Grand Bahama, and had some fun as well. Our exchange
students were hosted by local Rotarians and Interact families, and for
that we are most appreciative. Our thanks go out to the GBI Rotarians that made this even possible for our students. Without the help of Rotarians Dudley Powell, Elkenny Lockhart, John Hynes and Peter Mandt-Rauch this event would not have been the outstanding success it was. Special thanks go to John, for hosting a fantastic pool party at his home for the youth exchange and interact students, and Peter for arranging the "Dolphin Experience". And more thanks go to Roy Joseph for arranging all the travel and being the youth exchange "nooge" and to Chairman Doug Weinman for chaperoning with Roy and doing the youth exchange speech at the District Conference. And finally to Wendy Christopher for putting together a great program with Interact and Youth Exchange for the entertainment of the assembled Rotarians at the conference.
