Well It`s little old me again. I have a
feeling this is going to be a short report, and as usual I
apologize for any grammatical error in this report. However it is
me duty to inform you of the lowdown of my year abroad. Well, This
past month things have been moving forward for me, I didn`t just
have ONE Kyudo Event (Japanese Archery)... But Three!!! The
First two were Test., Kind of like belt tests for Martial arts
such as Karate. I now hold the title of Shodan in the Art of
Kyudo. The third event I had in Kyudo was a tournament
Unfortunately I ate a some bad food and got really sick ; Had a
fever of about 102 for the next couple of days afterwards. I was
really disappointed because not only did my Kyudo game suffer but
two days after was my class picnic that I had to miss because of
my illness; I swear, it never fails.... Oh well, no use
complaining. Beside, I have two Festivals I`m attending in
July...I Can`t wait!!
Well with two months left until I
go home, I`ve been spending my time here just enjoying the rest
of my time. On Thursdays I help tutor some of my Friends
(English Naturally). Plus I have been getting into model
building lately but since I`m new at it my Host father and
youngest host brother are helping me, It`s turning into a group
project. Three Guys that have almost no clue what we`re doing,
It`s more like an episode of the three stooges then three guys
trying to make a model. When My host mother and sister look at
us they can`t help but laugh...psshh,whatever.
Also I`m going to arrive home on
the 25 as opposed to the previously announced 28. I`m attending
my final Rotary meeting ( the Fourth one since coming) on june
26, I`ll be giving my farewell speech then, and I just keep
thinking how fast the year has gone by. It`s seems like
yesterday I walked out of the plane to greet my first host
family...I`m sure am going to miss everyone here, but all good
things most come to an end. I will try be keeping in touch with
my friends and families (as most exchange students say I`ll
shall never forget The joys and sorrows I experienced in the
year I was abroad, and never forget the people I was able to
share them with.)
Sincerely yours- Robert John Schlafke
