| Hi everybody, everything's goin'
great.
Last Thursday, I was introduced to my sponsoring Rotary club; they were all very nice and tried, with the little English they knew to start a conversation, and yes, I did have to introduce myself in front of them, but it was OK, they made me feel really comfortable. That was also the first time I had oysters. For my meal at the meeting I had the oysters and some white wine. Then, I had som steak and stuff with soe red wine. They enjoyed filling up my wine glass. Then, last Sunday, there was a picnic t the farm house with all of the French students who went out from my district, that was pretty cool, because most went to English speaking countries, so I had no problem speaking with them. Oh, and ye again, I had to introduce myself. And they gave me MORE wine this time, but I refused (after a while). Today was my first day of school. It was pretty
weird, but really cool. First of all, I had to be ready for 8. Well, for
those who know me would guess that I got there late. But things actually
started to take place at 9, so that wasn't a problem. Alot of people were
whispering and in class "that's her?" and "yeah, that's her, the new
exchange student" (they said it in French, but I understood that part).
Everyone was really nice to me and tried their hardest to speak a little
English even if they didn't do any lessons on it. I made a few friends who
showed me the ropes and spoke to the best of their abilities in English for
me to understand what the teacher was saying. Some people even invited me to
have lunch with them, but I had prior plans to go home (which isn't far at
all) to have lunch. I ate alotta food and took a nap. Then, I was back on my
way to school for three more hours. I got home at 5 today, but it wasn't bad
at all. Anyway, I'm a little tired so I'm gonna sign out now. |
