Hallo!!Wie geth's????
I am really sorry I didn't write my report before, but it was a
misunderstanding, I thought I was supposed to write a report every three
months (that's how it works with my host club here in Germany )not
monthly, sorry once again.
Well, I came to Germany August 22nd.I flew from Miami to Munich, which took
eight hours (and I was so excited that I couldn't sleep at all); in Munich I
had to run all over the airport to catch my plane to Hamburg (I never run
that fast in my life, I am sure that my track coach will be so proud of me
if he would have seen me=) )but I made it! In Hamburg I waited almost one
hour for my suitcases...they never came! until next day. (Good start!)
I only lived for 3 weeks in Hamburg city with my first host family,
the Broschk. I had problems with them, so I moved to my counselor's house on
September 15th to Ahrensburg, a small, nice and quiet town ,7 km away from
Hamburg. I also had to change schools, but I didn't mind at all to start over
again. Family Rossle are really nice and lovely.I have a sister called Elena
and a brother called Nick. They are seven and five years old. They are such
cute childrens! always playing around and laughing.
My 'Deutsch' has improved a lot; it's so amazing how much I can understand by
now. I remember my first weeks in Germany and how strange it did sound to
me. Grammar is so difficult to learn, but I like the language ,and I want to
learn it perfectly soon.
Schools here are not that big like in America; they are small and everybody
knows each other. The students and the teachers are nice. Mondays
,Wednesdays, and Fridays i go to the school (Gymnasium), and Tuesdays and
Thursdays I attend to a different school to take German classes for three
hours in the mornings.
The weather...horrible!!! I miss the sun and warm days from Florida!
Winter is coming really soon, and hopefully I will not get frozen!! The sun goes out
like at 5:30p.m,it's kind of strange. But I think it is so nice to feel the
four different seasons of the year.
I went to Hannover ,to the EXPO for four days with my Rotary Club and Rotary
students from my district. We had so much fun ,it was amazing! I enjoyed a lot
the different Pavilions of the Nations, Thematic Areas and Festivals. We slept
in big tents in the middle of corn fields, we were so cold ,but at the same
time it was a nice experience.
I didn't have school for two weeks because of the autumn holidays. We went
to 'Weinheim' a beautiful city in South Germany, it took us six hours driving
by car,but it was worth it!
The 25th of November ,I will meet the other Rotary students from my
district,t o celebrate together 'Thanksgiving Day', its going to be a nice and
special day for all of us.
I do like so much my Rotary host club in Ahrensburg, they all are so
friendly=)I attend one weekly ROTARY Club meeting per month.
I am enjoying my year in Germany so much, thank you very much!!
Viele Grüsse
Bis bald
