| Hello, it's Puqui here doing her
report for the month.
What to tell you.... what to tell you..... Gosh, it's been a quick month I can tell you that. There were days that I felt I couldn't make it, that I just HAD to go home. But I passed them. I swear I thought I was going to call home a beg to go back. But then I thought: "Why?" Why would I do such a stupid thing like that? I've been given an opportunity like none other. So if you feel that you can't do it, it's too hard, people aren't kind, just stop! Look around you... You are in a place, a place that you may never be in again. A place that you may never see again. And the people around you, charish them, for they won't always BE in you lives. It's very important that you heed my warning now before the year is over. Carpe Diem! Seize the Day! You may never again live like this. Oh! But anyway! I feel like such a coo_coo head for telling you this. I'm just in that kind of mood, you know? Okay, now for my REAL report. For those of you who don't care to hear about my time in France you may now stop reading, and for those who do-continue. Okay, as you know I've been to Paris-wonderful wonderful city. Well, not too long ago I went to La Rochelle. It is a nice city that is located along the west coast of France. Um okay, so that was that. Friday was a special day here in Niort. Everyone in the center of the city wasn't allowed to use their cars. It was so cool! The streets were empty except for the cries and joys of children playing. I loved it. Yes and on that day I went to get my Visa (because my visa was only for three months). Okay, so I did that by myself. Pretty cool huh? I had to ask for it myself AND in French! I felt so proud afterwards. It was a real accomplishment for me. My school is cool. So far I haven't had any tests nor any grades, but I expect some soon, I think. I still don't know the system that well here. But what's really cool is that I start some days at 10 in the morning and may end as early as 12 (noon). BUT some days aren't so great and can go on until 5/6. I do sports after school on Wednesdays, because those are the days we get out at 12. So far I've done rock_climbing, and kayaking. Very exhilarating, let me tell you. I almost tip over at times. ALMOST! And with rock_climbing my muscles HURT. Ooooo, ooooo. So that's my school. My family: Okay my family, they're cool. Somedays I feel I could ring their necks, but then the next minute I love 'em. It's funny, I don't know what's wrong with me. No; but they're very nice people and I am very very very fortunate to have them. Oh yes! I almost forgot. I have four families! Yeah four. So I'm leaving the Boinot's the 10 of November (I think it's the tenth). Well yes, so that's going to be hard on me, moving so much. But it's ok. I want to meet as many people as possible. I want to KNOW the French. You know what I mean? Yes, and in two weeks or so I'm having a dinner with all four of my families in the next house I'll be staying at. It should be interesting. I hope my French is better. And I believe I am getting better at this French stuff. I'm even finding myself whipping down my plate with a piece of bread and eating it. (Something I found extra ordinary when I first saw it.) Tant pis! Oh well! If I have pictures, how do I get it to be on the website? (My only question.) But besides that, I'm pretty situated. I know my routine. I'm in the groove, I'm feeling the flow and I'm just going with it. It's so much fun! (Though I do miss my family every now and then.) But thank you so much Rotary! Really. Greatful in France Puqui P.S. I'm also doing chorus, and I cant even sing a note! |
