| Hi!!
Here's a quick report of how I'm doing. I will go to my permanent host family on Sunday. I am definitely looking forward to meeting them. My two temporary families have been really nice to me too, though, and I will miss them. The first one offered to take me skiing with them at some point in the year, so that is something to look forward to. I went to the disco with some Austrian kids my age that my host family found for me, and had a blast. The music was so loud that by the time we left, after about four hours there, I could barely hear anymore! It was wonderful. I'm trying to speak a little German, but I still don't know enough for conversational use yet. I am beginning to understand more, and everyone here has been very patient. It is sunny here now, which is nice after the last few days of rain. There are flowers everywhere, which is really beautiful. The Austrians love flowers, and they are all over everyone's yard, and planted all over the city. Things are not too expensive here after all, since the dollar is so strong, so this year's exchange students are lucky. Thanks to Bill Clinton for the great economy! Today I went with Hans Mandak to talk to the principal of the school I will be going to. I will be in the 7th grade (like 11th) but will talk formal dancing classes with the 6th. I might start taking music lessons too, but first Herr Mandak has to check if I can get into the music school this late in the year. Everything is great here, and I am so happy that Rotary gave me this opportunity! Homesickness hasn't hit yet (crosses fingers). Oh, and I'm sending a couple pictures that I took from the language school that you can post on the website. Say hi to the inbounds for me! Luky
