Dear Everyone,

Well as we all realise our years are drawing to an end. I have only 2 months left and I know that they are going to fly. My main highlight of this month was seeing my parents and little sister for the first time in 9 months. I picked them up at the airport in Amsterdam and then we went to Maastricht. It was quite an experience translating for them. After a while I  think I didnīt like it anymore because I know that everyone speaks English around here.

One of the cool  things that happened is that I organised a thank you diner for my host parents, counselor and rye. It was very interesting to sit at the same table with all these people who have made my year here in Maastricht possible. I think it went really well and we had a great time. We celebrated Queens Day in Rotterdam because the trains to Amstersam stopped working in the morning because people got crazy and started walking over the tracks.

It was hard to say good bye. I guess I have mixed emotions over the whole thing. I didnīt want them (my family) to go but I didnīt have any intention of leaving. I also was kinda sad over the fact that I only have 2 months left here. I think Iīm just going to  enjoy what I have.

Another thing we had this month was easter and it was very differnt. We went to the Easter Vigil Mass, thats the one the night before, and when we came out of the church it was snowing. Its probably the last snow of the year but did you ever hear of a white easter?? The Easter Bunny also comes here in the Netherlands otherwise known as the Paas Haas. He hides the eggs too in the garden. Everybody participated young and old. We sat down for an Easter Breakfast of hard boiled eggs that we had found and bread. There was also some pastries.

One thing I noticed this year from a distance is that there wasnīt really a rotex this year. I mean wel there wasnīt a rotex activity that got put on the website. I wanted to ask all you guys right now when we all get back if we could all become rotex members and see how differnt our experiences were and throw some parties for the incoming inbounds.Iīm now a volunteer by the animal rescue. It will only be for about a little over a month but I like doing it.

Well

I gotta go and Iīll be keeping busy.

Corinne
