Hi, hope everyone is surviving.  Well it has been a while since my last report and I’m very sorry about that.

I’m doing great here in Buenos Aires. The weather is cooling down. The streets are filled with people wearing thick jackets and layered clothing. God, how I miss the warm weather.

Well school has started again. I’m a senior now.  At 7:00 am I have to be up and ready for school.  I am understanding much more this time.  When I first arrived I hardly understood anything, like any other exchange student.  Out of placement is such a horrible feeling.

I’ve grown much closer to my classmates.   Sometimes after school we get together and hangout and on the weekends we go dancing sometimes.

I’m living with my fourth host family.  I had to move from my third host family, because they live about an hour from my school in bus.  Now I live four blocks from my school.  In my new host family I have a fifthteen year old sister, Melina, host mother, Monica, and grandparents, Ires and Ramon.  Ires and Ramon own a building that consists of three apartments.  The apartment on the first floor is being rented out to a private mailing service, one of the apartments on the top floor is where Ramon, Ires, and Monica work, they own an insurance company.  The third apartment on the second floor is where we live.

Next year Melina, my host sister, will do her exchange.  We don’t know where to yet, but we should know by the end of this month.  Her and I get along really well.  Actually I’ve had luck with all of my host brothers and sisters.

It is going to be hard to say good-bye to my families and friends here in Argentina.  I have about a month and an half until my exchange year is up.  I’ve made my reservations for my return flight for the 15th of  June, which is a Friday.  I’m nervous.  It’s a weird feeling.

I am still trying to figure out something nice to do for my host families before I leave.  So if there are any ideas please e-mail me….

Next week I’m taking my last for this year.  The rotary exchange district  of Buenos Aires is organizing a trip to the Iquazu Falls for a week.  We will leave this Sunday the 6th of May and return the following Saturday the 12th.  I’m excitied, because this will be the first trip with other exchange students.  I might have to get a visa to pass to the brazilian side of the Falls.  I should be fun.

Well that is all for now.  I will send pictures when I get back from the Falls.

Bye for now,

April Tokash
