What can I say? I have been here for nearly 4 months! I must say that I am having a blast here in Sweden. The weather is still cold but we haven't had  much snow. It has been raining so the weather is a bit messy right now.

I have been doing lots of exciting things. I had a horrible fever for two  days earlier this month. I got sick the day before an arranged trip to a  town called Umeå. My host mum Eva Britt wouldn't let me go unless she was  sure that my fever had gone down. I did get to go eventually and it was  fantastisk! I went partying like there was no tomorrow with other exchange  students. I also went iceskating and nearly tore off my ankles. I'll never  try that again. I nearly killed myself! It was worth it though because at  least I could say that I went iceskating in Sweden. I took the train and bus  and altogether it took me some 6hrs. I had a great time.

I also went to London. I think that this trip was the most exciting thing  that happened this month. I visited all the famous attractions such as  London Bridge, Tower Bridge, the Monument, Parliament Houses, Big Ben,  London Dungeon, Tower of London, St. Paul's Cathedral, Westminister Abbey,  Hyde Park, Downing Street, Buckingham Palace etc. I really enjoyed the  London Dungeon because I learned about dreadful conditions in London during  Medieval times. I was thoroughly fascinated at the wax displays. I learned  about Jack the Ripper, the Great Fire of London, and the horrible methods  used to chastise people during the early times in London. I did a great deal  of shopping there even though the prices were high. It was so cool and I  wish that I could visit again some time in the future. I must share two  experiences with you who are reading this report. When I arrived with the  others at Luton airport in London, we had to take a shuttle from the plane  to the main building. We got out and headed for immigration. We filled out  our forms and shortly after I cleared immigration, a fire alarm signalled  and caused a panic. Everybody had to evacuate because somehow a small fire  had to be put out. Great start wasn't it?

My second funny experience occurred after everyone put their luggage in  their rooms. Our chaperone, Stig Forsling, thought that it would be great to  take a short walk that evening. So we went. Everybody felt excited,  especially people like me who were visiting for the first time. So we walked  and walked and everybody could see a lady in the distance. We all assumed  that she was simply a common British lady waiting for a taxi. As we walked  closer, we could finally figure out who she was. I mean who else could it be  10:00 in the evening but a prostitute. She was dressed up in a black mini  skirt, a tight shirt, hot pink stockings to match her hot pink feathered  scarf, loads of make-up and high boots. We laughed like hell because she was  trying so hard to get some 'attention'.

Following the London trip, I went to another Swedish town called Falun where  I went to a meeting. I saw other exchange students and I was happy to meet  with the students that I hadn't seen since Kopparbo. There we discussed  important issues and all the exchange students got together and reminisced  about when we first met. It was great.  Everything is going quite well here. I am having lots of fun, meeting new  people, and learning more and more Swedish everyday. I understand so much  now and I have short chats in Swedish. It will take a little longer for me  to pick up the language, however, because everybody here can speak English.  I hope everything is going well with all the exchange students of district  6990. I will end by saying 'God Jul' (Merry Christmas)! I hope that  everybody has a great holiday. Until next time! This is my report for the  month of November.

Truly,
